"He has always been with me. He is still young so I look after him to the best of my abilities. He is my wittle fluffle butt so I have to!"
Yunneth giggled as she hugged the cat who preceded to meow and just flail around. She was not hugged him hard or was suffocating him. He just seemed as if he didn't want her touching him any more. Well, now that the cuddling was over, time to wash her hands and prepare Raven's meal! She had to admit...that may make things difficult as that was very vague but...instead of troublesome, Yunneth decided to think of it like a game. If she can make the correct dish, she wins. After thinking of a few beef based dishes, Yunneth smiled and begin to pull out rice.
"I hope you do not mind beef curry for dinner!"
She said with a smile. That could work, she thought. The raven began to pull out the rice cooker and poured rice into the cooker, enough for both her and Raven and soon started the machine. As she began to get the ingredients ready, she was happy to know that the cake was good for desert tonight.
"Excellent! Then I will get started on that after dinner!"
Raven couldn’t help but giggle at Yunneth doing some sort of baby-talk to her cat. It’s rather precious, that it makes her wish to have a pet of her own. She somewhat envied Yunneth, having the opportunity to have a pet, and growing up with one. An opportunity she’ll never have, again.
A small laugh bursts out of her mouth as the cat leaves Yunneth’s arms,
“Cats are rather contradictory, don’t you think? They first want your attention, and then once you give them it, they don’t want it.”
Yunneth pulled out some rice and asked if beef curry could be something to her liking. That already sounds delicious, the girl could only imagine the taste. The thought about it nearly made her salivate like crazy,
“I’d be delighted to have some, thank you.” She licks her lips. She has to ease her hunger for a moment.
Oh boy, beef curry and then cake. With calamari also for their meal. Raven may have that as like a side dish. Either way, it’s going to be a great dinner, and with a friend to enjoy the meals with.
Yunneth had to agree with that statement. Kuro would mewl and rub against her until she gave him attention. Then the moment she does, he either claws at her hand in a playful manner or just ignore her. It didn't help either when she cooked and the cat wanted some of what she was eating. The black cat was just so mischievous! She both loved and hated that about the cat. When told curry would work, the girl smiled and began to put the grains into the rice cooker.
"Excellent! I will get to work on it immediately!
The raven began to gather the ingredients. Onions, garlic powder, cinnamon and what ever else she needed for the curry sauce. She began to pour olive oil into the skillet and turned the stove on a medium heat.
"I hope you will enjoy this. I do not make curry too often but I like to think that some of my dishes turn out okay."
She said with some confidence.
"So have you ever had a pet? Dog? Cat? A fish also works too."
Raven became excited, her mouth nearly salivated over the idea of having beef curry. It’s going to be a great meal, she just knows it will be. What could possibly go wrong?
Yunneth grabbed out the ingredients for the curry. Since she had watched Raven make the calamari, she may as well do the same and watch her make the curry; a good way to progress the friendship of cooking buddies.
“I’m sure your dishes are going to turn out well, since I believe you know what you’re doing.” She reassured the girl. Whether she made it rarely or frequently, she must know what she’s doing to make this. It should be guarantee that Yunneth understands what to use to give the curry just the right amount of flavoring, especially since it involves beef. Beef is usually great when marinated or anything to give it more flavor. It always satisfies a hungry person.
“I must ask, how long have you been cooking, again? I’m sure someone like you has been taught to cook at a young age or so.” She might've asked this before, but the short-haired girl couldn't remember exactly if she did so, or not. Which is rather weird, since she's usually a person who's not so forgetful about this kind of information.
There’s the question about pets. How is she going to answer this one? She isn’t sure how to, but honesty is definitely her goal for this answer. However, it can’t be total honesty, or else this night will be spoiled. Once again, make her way around the truth, but still tell some part of it.
“I’ve had. A cat actually. She was a Siamese, very small but very cute. I was only so young when I had her, though.” As long as the questions didn’t go deeper than that, Raven is in the clear. It’s a basic question, not asking for any details.
"Heehee! Thank you for the confidence! I think I know what I am doing at least. I have made curry before so I think it will be okay..."
Yunneth said as she began to cut some onion. Once cut she placed the onion into skillet and began to stir it. When asked how long she had been cooking, the girl had to think about it.
"Hm...I was a small child when i began to learn, I came from a wealthy family so we had a chef who cooked such divine dishes! However, it was my Nanny who taught me how to cook. She felt like that in case there was a time I was on my own or the family lost it's wealth, I could at least feed myself."
She explained. Well...it seemed her nanny was right to do so. Just thinking about it made her miss the woman. She was her wet nurse, her nanny...more of a mother than her biological mother. Even now, it still feels like she is taking care of the girl to this very day. When Raven finally answered her about a possible pet, it made Yunneth smile know her friend had a cat too.
"She sounded cute! Have you ever considered getting another one?"
Yunneth asked as she changed the heat on the stove and continued to stir, waiting for the onion to turn brown. She was tempted to ask what happened to the cat but that may just be rude. Perhaps it is best not to ask?
“You’ll do just fine.” Raven winked at her. Even without tasting her cooking before, she believes that Yunneth’s a good cook. Why else would she invite her here? It’s not like she’s going to poison her, or anything. The thought of it nearly made her laugh, for some reason. It’s rather morbid, but still it sounds funny.
Wow, their stories are rather much alike. Raven felt much at home when the girl explained how she got her cooking skill. A wealthy family, with a nanny and a chef, yet the nanny’s the one who taught her. It’s very alike, though there are some differences between hers and Yunneth’s.
“I was taught like that, too.” Raven couldn’t stop herself, after that. There’s so much similarities between the two, “I mean I didn’t have a nanny, but I had servants teaching me. It was from then on, that I began to cook for myself. I started very young when this had happened.” Maybe she shouldn’t go to into much further details. The servants is rather a lot of a giveaway. But more for the idea that she was once a noble. It’s rather odd thinking about that to Raven.
Before Raven could answer that question, she looked down for a moment. Though, having another pet sounds nice…
"To be very honest, as much as having another sounds very delightful, I don’t believe I have the heart to take care of a pet.” More like she doesn’t have a heart at all. It’s stopped.
