General Expectations
Joining, applying and participating in this server means agreeing that you have read the rules and will abide by them, including any additional rules described during the application process on the application page.

Mods and admins reserve the right to ban at a moment's notice depending on severity of rule breakage.

DO NOT START PROBLEMS IN THE MAIN CHAT. Zero tolerance for any violations of this rule. If you have an issue with someone else in the game, you talk to them about it personally and keep the chat civil. If it cannot be solved, talk to them in DMs or contact a moderator. Anyone who disturbs the peace or resorts to insults in the main chats or the RP chats will be immediately kicked. If I or my staff suspect even the slightest chance of a repeat, you'll be banned. Be an adult and communicate. Engaging in anti/bullying behavior and deliberately attempting to make the chat and others upset will result in a ban.

On the subject of being an adult, you must be an adult to read, remain in, or participate in this server. You will be expected to fill out your introduction blurb with a minimum amount of information including your age, which must be 16 or older. 16+, 18+, 20+, 30+, this server doesn't care as long as you're 16 or older. It is assumed then that you are telling the truth, and any reveal that you are lying about your age via DMs, via discussion in chat, etc. will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

PLEASE NOTE: Canon DL ages are listed by the age that is appropriate for their high school year, not how old they actually are. All vampire and impure vampire characters that are canon are considered significantly older than that, and simply are "passing" as that age while they mesh with the human world. UNLIKE THE CANON CAST, all humans and demons are expected to be 18 or older if you wish to write out sexual activities in the NSFW channels or engage in "adult" conversations in the text chats.

ADDENDUM for minors, please read: While we are aware that the bulk of you are mature or just about there but, the law is the law in the country of which some of us are from. You can engage in other interactions but anything that may be mature themed including but not excluding: sexual themes, explicit themed photos, gifs or ideals that may be posted in the server. This also includes interactions with Laito that go behind the regular banter, or audioting for the canon.

As stated above, attempting to engage in sexual activities with a character less than 18 years old will be responded to by promptly and immediately banning said roleplayer for legal reasons.

Personal Topics should be left to Personal Spaces - not here. Please be mindful that this is a public roleplay forum. There will not be a vent room, as we encourage healthy, proactive discourse. Roleplay server etiquette tip: Please ask Permission Before DMing Each other - it is not recommended you DM anyone in this server without asking them if it is okay! Mods & Admins should only be contacted privately for Server related reasons!

Use some degree of common sense with triggering & upsetting content whether in discussion or in writing. This is Diabolik Lovers, and some topics cannot be avoided - we're not asking you to not write it, we're asking you to use spoiler text for replies that cover inappropriate topics (preferably with some kind of warning text above it in parentheses so those who don't want to read it don't have to), spoilered and that you avoid certain extremes when possible. Horror and NSFW is fine, as long the age is of 18 for NSFW/ But, please remember not all roleplay partners are interested in the particular dark topics you might want to cover, so please communicate with all RP partners. If you're uncertain and need to discuss with a mod, please do so, but make sure you keep discussion up with your active rp partner(s) as well.

Kink/Ship Rules
Because it's slightly inevitable some people will come in dreaming of ships.

Have a ship? Great! Have a ship you hate? Cool, keep it to yourself. This server has a strictly 'your ship may not be mine, but that's okay' policy. Do not attack, shame or police others for their shipping preferences. Disparaging comments towards ships will be deleted on sight with a written warning. Discussing something outright is not an attack. Here is an example of the difference:

Person A: I like Yui/Karlheinz!
Person B: Oh, really? I'm surprised, because I'm not sure how that one would work... Mostly because I think the Sakamakis would get in the way and prevent it. How do you picture it?
Person A: Oh, I'm not sure how it would start yet, but I really like the idea of exploring how complicated things would get with the Sakamaki family if it happened. It's more that I see interesting potential in it, you know?
Person B: Oh, I see! I'm not sure I'd be interested, but I definitely think that's a cool perspective.
A bad dialogue about ships
Person A: I like Yui/Karlheinz!
Person B: Lmfao wtf, that's disgusting

On Roleplay

Roleplayers with a canon role (i.e. Yui Komori, Laito Sakamaki, etc.) must be active with at least 1 post or more a week for each active canon role. Canon roles can be specific to a roleplay category or universally applied depending on activity level + interest. As in, an individual with Yui Komori as a canon role universally applied must not only be active 1 post or more a week, but also be active 1 post or more a week for all roleplay universes within the server.

At this time, unique accounts are not required for individuals who want to write multiple characters. However, upon approval, each character will be added as a role and the user must specify the character they're using at the beginning of their post. This must be done via the writing, a header for the writing, or both, to prevent confusion. If you prefer to have multiple accounts for your own personal management, that is fine as well. We encourage the use of tupperbot as an alternative to this.
Example(s):
First sentence in a lengthy post: "Reiji Sakamaki perused the bookshelves while his thoughts percolated."
As a header:
Reiji Sakamaki
He stared at her, dumbfounded. [...]
As both:
Reiji Sakamaki
Reiji stared at her, dumbfounded. [...]

Roleplayers can be in more than one interaction at a time within reason as long as they are prepared to keep track of which interaction happened first, etc., and communicate to work out any accidental time paradoxes that arise. No one should be permanently rp-locked because they're in one interaction with an individual who went on hiatus. Just don't abuse this or rules will be put in place to minimize this option. Do not reply to everything ever, give other people a chance to interact with each other too!


When/if lore conflict arises between Diabolik Lovers canon + another character (i.e. let's say someone applies for a teacher from Rejet's Bad Medicine CDs/game), Diabolik Lovers canon wins in the case of this roleplay. That said, keep the potential lore conflict within reason: if applying for a character from another series - don't apply for D from the Vampire Hunter D light novels/movies and try to have his vampire lore trump the DL lore. Attempt to make the character lore fit into the DL lore in some aspect or please pick another character from a litany of games, and the like.

General Uh-Ohs & Warnings

As mentioned previously, this is Diabolik Lovers, which has the following topics within. These may be alluded to, mentioned, etc. as appropriate. Certain ones, such as promiscuity, cheating, emotionally and physically harming others, etc. may be engaged in within roleplay. Please be somewhat prepared to witness reference of the following topics that arise in the games themselves:

- Cheating, promiscuity
- Emotional, physical and sexual abuse
- Rape *will be tight roped into nsfw servers and 18+ only.
- Self-harm & suicide (typically in the context of Azusa Mukami)
- Torture
- Manipulation
- Lying
etc. It goes on from there. You get the idea.

On Character Creation

Please refer to character roster before filling out an application.

Please remember that apping a bride is not an immediate death sentence but an inevitable one unless you are Yui Komori.

if denied, please do not place the relationship in there anyway., it'll be denied automatically until the mistake it adjusted or removed.


 OCs are not allowed to personally know canons by default. Period. This is to prevent a bad time and utter chaos ! . However, this also goes the other way: Canons cannot personally know OCs by default, either. You have to thread that out so there's a clear point at which they've met and interacted.



As an addendum, no OCs that are founders, or related to founders in any way, are allowed. Seriously, don't do it. It falls under the clause above and we will have to turn down your application, and yeah, we double check! It doesn't matter how far removed you say they are from said founder, we will be request you to change the species of the character.



Extra: Again! Minors (anyone under 18) should not RP in the Red Light District. Again, this is to prevent potential child endangerment laws being called on us. Any threads posted there that involve a mun who is a minor will be archived or deleted.


If your character is an older teenager or a young adult, please do not use any fc that is too young ( much younger than their actual age. If you're unfamiliar with these terms, it means please do not use face claims who look like a juvenile / child if they are not children. It may make it very uncomfortable for other members to roleplay with them.
