When Raven nodded to Clara, Clara noticed a stiffness in the movement. Maybe her neck is sore Clara wandered with that thought in mind. She came back as Raven had snapped her fingers following the words “business district”.
“Ah, that would be nice, I don’t like my old bank, too bland for my tastes.” Clara followed Raven around trying to keep up, Clara was still a little tired from the sudden run, Man I really need to ask Raven how she does it Clara looked around, a new place, a new home, she couldn’t help but feel so small.
“After living in a military base for almost my whole life, this place is really huge, also there's a lot of walking around. I don’t get how you do this everyday Raven.” Clara started humming a random tune.
“I have to ask are you an only child? You don’t look like the type to have a sibling. I have a younger brother he is going to turn two soon, hope I find a present for him.”
Walking around the business district of Kamina, Raven turned her face to Clara, “Here we are, the business district. It’s a common area I go to.” She pointed out the buildings around them, “It is basically the area where you can find mainly all the stores and eateries. Even hotels, and there’s also a mall here.” She gave a small elbow nudge to the blonde girl, “You can buy all your panda merchandise here, if you so please.”
Continuing their walk, the vampire listened on to the human girl, “Well I’ve been here all my life and watched this city expand, so of course I’m going to be one who wanders around a lot.” She did catch on to the fact she once lived in a military base, but didn’t poke around at it due to feeling that it’s none of her business.
I once did. Raven thought to herself. It only brings up bad memories, but still she couldn’t exactly lie, “I had a younger brother, myself. But I don’t see my family anymore, so technically I do feel like an only child now.” It’s one way to answer truthfully, without bringing up anything in the past. “If anything we can go to a store and find your brother a present. I don’t mind hanging around.”
Clara looked at Raven and then back at the sidewalk she didn’t want to poke the subject since it was obvious Raven didn’t want to relive her memories.
“Hmm...I don’t really know what my brother would like at his age.” Clara thought long and hard before reaching a conclusion and then she tilted her head and looked at Raven.
“You think kids nowadays like snow globes? I remember having some as a child I would just shake them all around for hours on end just watching the little snowflakes fall. Let’s just say there wasn’t a whole lot to do on a military base.” Clara looked around at the sky and smiled.
“Wow it's such a beautiful night. I wonder if there were any stargazing clubs, I should have really looked a lot more before joining Home Economics club back at school.” Clara scratched her cheek with her left index finger again in deep thought.
At least Clara didn’t question on further with Raven’s personal life. She exhaled a relieving breath, but then formed a puzzled look on her face when Clara mentioned about being unsure what her brother would like.
When the blonde asked about children liking snow globes, Raven tilted her head, slightly to the side and crossed her arms. “I mean sure, children seem to be fascinated by snow globes but...I figured maybe he would like a toy of some sort.” Isn’t that what kids always want, nowadays? Something to play with everyday of the week? Then again, Clara did also mention there wasn’t much activities for her to do back her old home in the military base. She felt some sympathy for the human girl, “How old is he, by the way?”
Now that she mentioned stargazing, it brought back flashbacks of the extra credit event that Raven attended before. That was pretty rough. “Well, some time ago, there was an event to earn extra credit for school to do some astrology. It was pretty much stargazing. Who knows, it might happen again some time at Ryoutei, and you can be able to attend it.”
Clara looked at Raven and with confidence said, “Two! He’s such a chubby baby full of life too, although he cries to easily. As for toys he’s a reckless little tot, one time I gave him a stuffed animal and he managed to rip all of it’s insides out.” The blonde laughed. “Imagine if it was blood! That would have been messy.” Clara blew hot air into her hands to try and warm them up.
When Raven mentioned extra credit and stargazing Clara’s eyes lit up to a dazzling glow. “Oh wow! Extra credit would be nice, although most school subjects come to me easily having more than enough is always good! Do you think you’ll be joining? I bet you look nice in a field covered in a blanket of stars! Like a model!” Clara grinned, she always had a knack for making attempts to embarrass people on purpose or accidental.
Isn’t that...adorable? Raven could only make out a nervous chuckle from that, “Well okay then. Perhaps a snow globe might not be such a good idea for a birthday gift.” She meant no offense, and immediately, she went to add more to her sentence, for clarification. “Mainly it’s because well if your brother’s only two years old and rather at his reckless times, perhaps just something less ‘breakable’ will do. You know, since a snow globe does have glass and that’s very fragile it could even cut him. Maybe something more tough would do.” She attempted to think of anything possible that’s not breakable and hopefully, Clara will understand where the vampire’s going with this.
“Yeah...blood.” It’s not the fact that Raven’s squeamish when it comes to blood, it’s the fact that her reaction would be to drink it up before it could go to waste. The messy part’s one thing, the blood dripping is another. It’s a good thing Clara made her maneuver, that way the vampire can change the subject, immediately. “Are you cold? We should get to a store immediately, then. I wouldn’t want you to be freezing.”
The vampire watched Clara’s blue eyes go big with excitement, and all because of an extra credit event being possible. Next thing to come out of the human girl’s mouth was a rather unexpected compliment towards Raven. Just the way she had described her, imagining her out in the fields looking so graceful; a model. All of this made the dark-haired vampire give out a tiny squeal, her cheeks flushing with red, and an embarrassed look upon on her face.
“Well, I wouldn’t see my appearance that much of a comparison to a model, but I do appreciate the compliment. You’re very kind, and honestly a pretty girl, yourself.”
Clara thought about what Raven had said about the toy idea and she couldn’t help, but agree, she didn’t want her little brother getting hurt because of her after all she was the oldest sister. Before she could think of a new toy Raven mention the coldish weather.
“Hmm, I guess you’re right I was just having so much fun.” Clara smiled. When Clara committed on Raven being a model she liked the reaction Raven gave and couldn’t help, but giggle.
“Well have you ever gave it much thought? Well you are a student, I guess you couldn’t really multitask, believe it or not I’m terrible at doing such a thing. Also, me being pretty? I think if I had better hair I would be considered a ten.” Clara looked at the time, it was getting very late, but she didn’t feel like returning home just yet after all she still wanted to at least know how to get back home.
A small laugh bursts out of Raven’s lips, “That’s alright. Usually when you’re enjoying your time, things just pass by like that.” She snapped her fingers. She couldn’t blame Clara, after all. At least she’s happy and finding this exhilarating, somehow. Admittedly, the vampire slightly grew envious about how easily joyful the blonde girl can get for something so small. If she could stay positive like that, so optimistic, maybe life for her would be easy.
It’s true, multitasking is not something people can find all so simple and Raven knew many people who are unable to do that. Seeing how the students at Ryoutei are when it comes to that, it’s proof that it’s not easy (that or they’re just lazy, and are distracting themselves).
“I beg to differ, I can do more than one task, simultaneously but I do understand the difficulties of it. However, I don’t consider myself much of a model or believe it to be a path to follow for me.” She shrugs and scratches the back of her head. As much as she appreciates the idea of being compared to a model, she couldn’t imagine herself as one.
When hearing Clara being self-conscious about herself, Raven patted her back, trying to give her reassurance, “Oh surely, you’re still really pretty no matter what.”
Clara smiled at Raven’s cute laughter, she tilted her head at the sudden mood Raven had on her face. Is she angry at me? Clara shook the idea off before hearing Raven say she can multitask a few things at a time.
“I get easily stressed I prefer to take things one at a time, which is why on quizzes my teacher tells me to come after school to finish up a test. Makes things easier for me.” Clara skipped along hearing Raven say that she was pretty as well. Clara blushed it wasn’t like she had gotten compliments everyday, but they were always nice to hear. Clara yawned deeply, stretching her arms up to the sky.
“I think all this walking is making me tired, have any idea how you can take me back to my place?” Clara hoped that her home wasn’t too far away after all she had a big day for her tomorrow now that she near the area much better than she did before.
“If I get any more tired I won’t be able to wake up tomorrow. Then I won’t get anything done! Then it will affect my studies and I become a dropout! My home taken away! My family disowning me, now I will be homeless, an idiot and worse!” Clara, with tears starting to form around the corners of her eyes as she flailed her arms around.
“I won’t have any money for my panda collection!” Clara whimpers and truly believes that panda’s are worth more even her own life it seemed.

Raven kept a smile on her face, “Well, taking your own personal time and pace is usually the key. It’s nice to have teachers like them who’ll give you a chance to finish your task, instead of stopping you so abruptly.” She would know, she’s dealt with the teachers like that in the past. Luckily for the vampire, because of the knowledge she has and earned, she rarely has to tolerate with that. That’s mostly due to the fact that she gets her tasks done with haste, and it’s done her good in result.
The girl sure gets exhausted, easily. The vampire jumped to the assumption that’s it possible Clara more than likely had a busy day, today. She couldn’t say she’d blame her, those kind of situations are always inevitable.
“Oh! Well uh…” Unlike Raven, most citizens of Kamina usually reside in the suburbs. She however, doesn’t. “Do you happen to live at the residential area, by any chance? That’s back over there near where we were before heading downtown.” She points at the direction they formerly were. Hopefully this is so, or else she’s going to be of no use for assistance.
Wow, she ridiculously takes things dramatically serious. I don’t believe a mistake so small would make a chain reaction of conclusions like that. I could be wrong, though. I don’t exactly know the poor girl. Raven thought as she watches how anxious Clara’s becoming.
“Well, let’s not get too carried away as such. We should get you home straight away since it seems that you have awfully a lot of things to do, tomorrow.”
Clara thought to herself, resting her right index finger on her cheek.
“Yeah, I don’t live where there is a lot of people, I prefer a quiet area.” Clara yawned and stretched. She dug around her purse and pulled out her phone, she tapped on an app that showed her the way to her home.
“I kinda forget my address sometimes, so with my phone and its map I can find my way back easily.” Clara walked beside Raven and she asked.
“Um, so after this you gonna ignore me at school? A lot of other people do that unless they want to borrow money, work with me in a group or as partners?” Clara looked at Raven with a typical sad eye look, it was obvious that Clara enjoyed Raven’s company. Clara shakes her head and looks up to the starry night sky.
“I-It’s okay if you do I know I can be a bit of a handful at times, then again, um, you showed me around which is great of you to do.”
Twirling a single lock of her hair, Raven purses her lips together, “I see.” Just like her, she too lives where there’s hardly anyone around. If anything, there’s nobody really around where the vampire lives. It’s as almost as though where she resides is a ghost town-ish area. “So you don’t mind living in quiet areas, and such?”
She is a new resident here, after all. “Understandable. You’ll get used to it later on on where you live, though. I’m sure of it.” Raven figured that it’s possible she wouldn’t have to guide Clara back home.
“What?” the vampire was taken aback at what the blonde girl said. “Oh no, of course not! I’m not that kind of person at all, for Heaven’s sake.” Honestly, what kind of person would ever do that to someone? Especially if the person means well, it’s seems very selfish and an awful to take advantage of someone’s kindness. Raven could only feel sympathy for Clara, afterwards. Perhaps, her kindness has been used a lot and she’s gotten to the point of it being so often towards her.
“I won’t ever be that kind of person. I won’t need your money, or anything. It’s the matter of friendship that counts.”
“Quiet areas don’t bother me really, where I live it’s so quiet sometimes I leave my TV on all night to make constant white noise, sure it runs up the bill, but having background noise never hurt anybody.” Clara looked around and hearing the words that she’ll get used to the area and the city around her made her feel truly welcomed. While Raven was in thought after what Clara had said, she laughed slightly covering her mouth with her hand as an attempt to hold back in her laughter.
“Well thanks I guess not everyone has a mean bone in their body. I just worry that I’ll cause trouble for someone else least I want to be is a burden and whatever.” Clara continued looking at her phone, following the map displayed on it. Taking random turns and she finally points to a dark and eerie alley way that is small and narrow, the apartments around the area are small and cramped. Clara the big wuss she was she held onto Raven tightly, like a child watching their very first horror movie.
“I don’t like scary dark places! What if some crazy serial killer comes out!” Clara closed her eyes shut, her lips trembling

I can relate to Clara with the whole need of sleep with the sound of white noise.
Where d i d my d i gn i ty go?
Daytime nightmares, get your fair share?
Needing to sleep with the sound of white noise? Raven couldn’t manage to empathize Clara with that. She didn’t need sounds to put her to sleep. Honestly, sounds made her more cautious; with a big place such as the vampire’s, sounds would be frightening to hear inside. Not that she’s afraid of them, but it would leave her wondering who or what’s inside her mansion.
Once the blonde girl chortled, Raven laughed in return out of instinct.
“Well, to be frank, I don’t think you’re one who could be a burden to anyone. I believe you’re a kind soul who can get along with many.” she lightly nudged her elbow against the human’s arm, “You just need a slight push, is all.”
Following along the way, the two end up being near a rather dark alleyway that leads to the suburbs. The atmosphere felt so...out of place, comparing the bright and optimistic part of Kamina.
Being clinged onto, Raven glanced at the fearful Clara. Poor girl must be high-strung, or full of anxiety. The way she just jumped into such horrid conclusions. It really doesn’t help that this town has a reputation of having people of the occult, but she can’t tell her that. Raven knew she has no choice; she can’t leave the girl in isolation of the darkness.
“Don’t fret. I’ll take you all the way to your place until we get to your door.” She reassures the blonde teen.
Clara continued clinging onto Raven, only nodding her head to what Raven said.
“What if we meet a ghost?! What if the ghost kills and haunts school girls because her husband left her for one and she went on a rampage and killed them both?!” Clara always made a habit of constantly worrying herself and others, she always assumed the worst no matter what. Raven’s walking slowed due to Clara slightly dragging her back and sometimes stopping every time she heard the slightest sound.
“What if we get kidnapped and sacrificed to some crazy blood god? Cut us up into tiny pieces and sell us on the black market and cannibals will eat our bodies.” Clara’s spiral of horrors didn’t seem like they would stop escalating anytime soon. In the darkness a tiny pair of yellow eyes glowed in the shadows. Raven heard a tiny meow, but to Clara's ears it was a demonic cry out for prey and blood. Clara made a tiny gasps and cried, not an actual cry but a more fearful cry.
"It's her! The schoolgirl killer!" Clara whimpered.
