Now Raven's like, "Getting almost done with your fear shit, Clara."
Where d i d my d i gn i ty go?
Daytime nightmares, get your fair share?
Oh sweet merciful stars, this girl more than likely has issues. A lot of issues. Even with reassurance, she ends up jumping to the worst conclusions. Conclusions that are possibly unlikely, unless Clara’s one who’s prone to bad luck.
“I’m certain that nothing like that will ever happen,” Raven answered, “Mainly because this area isn’t all that haunted.” at least it shouldn’t be. The vampire wondered if Clara’s been looking into a lot of Japanese urban legends, or anything related to the paranormal. Albeit, they are interesting to read about, but if one’s to take that serious, it’s possible they could be superstitious. Then again, she’s a vampire, a creature of the supernatural. Anything could be possible to exist now, could it?
It really didn’t help with the blonde constantly clinging onto Raven. It just made things more suspenseful; Not something that they need, at the moment. Especially since this second-year’s one who more than likely has paranoia.
“Uh, Clara dear?” she stopped within a second after the girl talked more about some gruesome conclusions, “Did you by any chance, lived around places where murder was rather a daily basis, or something?”
After she had asked that, a mewl had sounded near them. It caused Clara to startle and fuel up her fear. Raven looked at her, puzzled and sighed deeply,
“Nonsense, it’s only a stray cat.” shaking her head, the vampire had a feeling that the girl must’ve hung around a really wrong type of crowd, or converse with people who mentally scarred her with all these silly ghost stories.
Clara peeked her head out from Raven’s back. She blinked a few times before rubbing them with the palms of her hands.
“Oh, I guess it was just a kitten.” Clara stuttered and started taking deep breaths. “I’m sorry if I’m the jumpy kind. As for where I lived, I grew up in a military base. You’re surrounded by armed guards that are literally registered as lethal weapons! You feel safe thinking you're protected from everything especially those of the paranormal.” Clara made a nervous expression realizing how possibly stupid she sounded, but it was the truth. Living in the military base was a lot different then where she lives now, she felt unsafe about many things ranging from getting lost and murdered to natural disasters like earthquakes or sinkholes. Clara looked around and then back to her phone.
“It says just straight ahead and then home sweet home! I cannot wait to get some food into me, I’m starving.”
Thankfully, Clara didn’t jump to any more gruesome and unlikely conclusions. But perhaps, what she has explained is exactly what truly caused her to have extreme paranoia. Albeit, Raven’s not going to consider the idea of having to live in the military base a flaw, she believes it to be beneficial. However, when there’s a pro, there’s also a con to balance it out. Living in that military base must’ve really changed the second-year, and mostly in a mental way.
“Well, there’s no need for you to be sorry,” Raven patted the blonde’s head, “I’m sure at this time, you felt very protected from the surroundings.” but even sometimes, it probably would have been wiser if she had taken risks throughout her time there, too.
“We mustn’t keep on waiting, then.” sure, Raven knew that the average human body can live without food for days, but why starve? Food is good for many things, it brings happiness to the soul.
Clara went further down the street and pointed out a small house with a plain and dull color of light brown almost beige, it had two stories, since there were two windows one by the door and one on the upper left corner.
“Not a fancy mansion, but it’s an ideal home for a single living person and maybe a guest or two. Do you want to come inside? I can offer you some tea or coffee or some sweets! I have left over cake and cookies.” Clara smiled before digging her hands into her purse and pulled out a key with a cute design of pink and red hearts covering it all over. She went up the few steps leading up to her door and started unlocking it.
“Well? It’s either you come in or I can call you a taxi or something? I don’t like the thought of you walking around by yourself especially this late at night.” Clara sat down on her steps and waited for a reply.
