Daytime nightmares, get your fair share?
Another usual day at the town of Kamina. There’s not so much of a crowd, the weather’s fine and the sun was beginning to set. Raven had woken up earlier than usual, but she didn’t mind it at all. She was once a human, so part of this mundane sort has been remaining for awhile. Surely other turned vampires like her, have done the same.
Walking on the streets of the town’s central, and her hazel eyes gazing around the environment surrounding her, Kamina still felt so peaceful. This would’ve been a perfect day to have guided her friend, Yunneth around the area. She did promise to take her around the town and examine places, just so she can be familiar with the area, and not get lost.
She may as well just keep on wandering around, since classes at Ryoutei is not going to start until later on, tonight. Cheesecake didn’t sound tempting today, a rather shocking surprise for someone who loves cheesecake, as if it was her life source. Raven definitely didn’t plan on staying home throughout this time, god did she hate the place so much. Perhaps she should burn it down, one day. She has enough riches to find another place to live, but still, there’s still something in that cursed place that’s holding her down. Like a leash, or a boomerang; she always comes back to it.
Raven’s thoughts have clouded her mind, she became forgetful of where she’s walking, and resulting her to snap back into reality. She was suddenly bumped into someone she didn’t see coming by.
“Oh my apologies, I should’ve payed attention to the direction I was heading.” She said, immediately.
Is it worth the journey or do I let my heart settle here
After two days of cramming to get school work and projects done, Clara felt finally free and had the evening all to herself. She stretched her arms and got into her summer evening clothes, it was still warm even though it was already nighttime. She slipped on a pastel pink dress that went barely below the knee, she wore a dark blue short denim jacket and finally wearing her favorite pair of brown cowboy boots that has nice paisley line designs.
Clara grabbed her small purse that contained her ID, some money, a map, and her cellphone. She locked her front door and walked off to the train station, she looked at the map several times, making sure she was going the right way, she sat down in the train, and slowly drifted off into sleep. Suddenly, she was awakened by the loud voice on the train’s intercom, she rubbed her eyes, stood up, and walked to the automatic opening doors. When she looked at the signs of the train station and then back at her map she knew for a fact. This place wasn’t anywhere near where she wanted to go.
“This...this isn’t right, I should be here!” Clara hastily ran off and spun around. Then she ran a hand through her hair, disappointed in herself that she got this lost and it could have been easily avoided. Feeling sorry for herself, she continued walking around trying to make sense of the map, while looking at her map she felt her body collide with another. Stumbling back a bit she looks up, only hearing a few words, apologies, attention, and direction. “It's fine, I’m so sorry, I was looking at my map you see.” Clara scratched her head many times she came off as a tourist without meaning to.
Maintaining her balance, Raven managed to see the female, clearly. Taking an observation, what really caught the vampire’s eyes are the girl’s pretty blue eyes and of course, the luscious, long blonde hair and her attire that’s rather...different if that's the correct term to describe it? Albeit, her hair’s a bit messy; possibly a bedhead? She seems lost, noticing the map that she’s holding in her hands. Could she happen to be new here?
“Oh, that’s totally fine.” Raven brushed off the shoulder part of her leather jacket, “It’s my fault for not paying attention.” She may as well take the blame, the girl was looking at her map. Raven has no excuse.
“Well then, is there any particular area that you’re searching for?” Maybe today won’t be so wasteful. She may not be able to guide Yunneth around for today, but she can possibly help this girl out. The vampire’s very familiar with Kamina; she knows exactly every spot and location of any certain local building are at. Wherever this blonde female’s destination may be, it’s guaranteed Raven knows where it’s located.
“I’m practically a veteran of Kamina, so I can take you to your destination, if you’d like.” Raven gave out an offer of assistance to her.
Clara, seeing the lady look at her, then her map, and hearing her proposal she gladly accepted. “Thank you! Thank you! I kinda wanted to well at least know a few restaurants, supermarkets, and maybe a clothing store. Anything is helpful really...well mainly learning my way back home. Oh, um, for helping me I can give you some money, for your troubles.” Clara smiled hoping that this woman would be patient enough.
She looked on her cellphone, it was pink all over and on the back was a panda face that was waving. In the audio jack was a panda charm, it was a panda head attached to a few colorful stars. Clara looked at the time, she still had time before her curfew hit, she hated staying up late especially on a school day, getting up in the morning was a challenge for her.
“So a veteran of Kamina, huh? You must have lived here for a long time, must be nice. I hope I’m not taking you away from any of your planned activities.” Clara straightened out her hair and her dress to try and make her last minute effort to look presentable,
Well this is easy, Raven knows exactly where each and every destination that the girl’s searching are at. This should be very quick and easy for them, both.
“Oh well, you’re technically in the wrong area of the town then. This is Central Kamina, over here mainly are public and local areas. For example, apartments, the public library, park, pool, church, cemetery, and the hospital.” The vampire explained to the girl. She definitely has to be new to the town.
“The destinations you’re searching for are all in downtown Kamina.” She said as she points her finger southward to downtown.
“Oh no, that’s okay. You don’t need to make payment for my help. But I would like to offer on taking you over there to downtown.” The vampire assured the blonde. She doesn’t need money, that’s for sure, knowing the amount of riches she has already in her account.
Taking a look at the girl’s phone while the blonde was looking through it, Raven takes the assumption that she might be into pandas; they are practically everywhere on her device! She can’t exactly complain, though. Admittedly, pandas are rather cute.
“Nah, you’re not taking my time away, to be honest.” Raven began walking beside the girl, having one arm behind her head, and the other arm sticking up in the air as she stretches. Turning her face towards the blonde, she smiles, “But yes, I’m a veteran to the town. I’ve been here for a long time, so everything’s familiar to me. You’ve come to the right person to ask for assistance.”
“By the way, my name is Raven Okazaki. What’s yours, if I may ask?”
Clara took out her earbuds and pushed on in her left ear since the dark haired woman was on her right. Raven, huh? She must read Edgar Allen Poe. Clara said with a smile.
“Clara Robinson at your service.” Clara saluted then leaned forward, obviously not knowing her space. “I intrust my life in your hands!” Clara pulled back and continued walking along side of Raven. She looked through her phone for a perfect song that wouldn’t distract her from Raven and where she was going, there was an awkward silence between them. Clara didn’t like this and became fearful What if I scared her?! What if she thought I was someone who could kill her at any moment?! She grew dizzy at the thought and in a burst of loudness.
“SO! Where do you live? Family? School? Job? Lover?” Clara inhaled deeply Clara you idiot! Don’t make things weird! What should I do?! Was I asking questions too personal? She barely knows me! Clara waved both her hands in front of Raven trying to assure her and said.
“That’s only if you want to tell me that is. You must think I’m some crazy person.” Well who wouldn’t? Clara said to herself, giving Raven a nervous smile. It was clear that Clara clearly had no idea how to talk to people despite not having a language barrier issue.
Take your time responding, I know you've been busy with your job and all.

Clara seems pretty open, no doubt. At least that’s what Raven’s catching on from her. Though maybe she has a bit of difficulty when it comes to conversing with a new person. Not that she really blames her, or anything, it happens and she’s been under that situation before.
“Oh, well thank you, I suppose.” Raven chuckled, nervously. It’s only been a few minutes and that seemed quick of the blonde to entrust her, too quick. “Perhaps if we get to know each other further, you may trust me a lot better.”
Seconds in during their walk and already, Clara threw out the basic questions, immediately. Raven’s sure she’s not trying to be a nuisance, or anything near that; she’s starting to fall under the assumption that Clara definitely might have a few difficulties on keeping up with the conversation or being nice to someone. Then again, she’s a new person in town and she’s possibly having trouble on where to start. So maybe when Clara’s more comfortable as the days go by, she might not be extremely jumpy.
“Well um, those couple of questions I wish not to answer for now. Until the time is right, at least.” Raven scratched the back of her head,
“Job wise, I’m currently looking for one, at the moment. I am attending Ryoutei Academy, I happen to be a second-year high school student over there and actually, I have no lover at this time.” She answered the questions that she’s at least comfortable to say.
“That’s mostly because I’m not really interested in the idea of romance, for now. Also, I just happen to not have the time for it.” She gave out a shrug to the blonde,
“What about you, where did you come from and what happens to bring you here to Kamina?”
Is it worth the journey or do I let my heart settle here
Hearing Raven state how she was in the same school Clara was attending, it filled her little heart with glee.
“Wow! I go to Ryoutei Academy as well!” Letting Raven talk a little more she happily listened. Until she heard the question of why she was in Kamina.
“Ah, well, you know my Father wanted me to, uh, try and live on my own. He’s that parent that will throw you in the water so your survival instincts will kick in and you try to swim to save yourself. It’s harsh I know, but I know he means well, he always does. Anyway, now that I have you as my official guide! Adapting this place will be a breeze.” Clara giggled with excitement.
With a pop in every step she took, suddenly Clara’s eyes glowed with an innocent light as she looked upon a small coin machine. It was a sticker machine where every fifty cents, it spat out a sticker. In the coin machine was various cartoonish animal characters all very cute in their own way. It was obvious that Clara had her eyes on a specific animal sticker, the sticker was a black and white panda hugging a small rainbow striped heart.
“Raven! Do you know what this means?! This means that very sticker! In that very machine! Was meant for me! No….it was destined for me! I have to have it no matter the cost!” Clara gave the machine a look of determination. She began digging around her small purse for some change.
“Uh, Raven do you mind waiting until I get that sticker? It’s very important that I get it.” Clara scratched her head and kneeled down and begun to shove as much change as it took to try and get that sticker.
Of course the obvious school in Kamina. Definitely it’s not all that surprising for Raven, but perhaps she’ll end up seeing Clara quite often. Another person to hang around with during school, aside from Yunneth.
“Fantastic, what year are you in, if I may ask?” She grew in hopes that Clara happens to be a third-year student. That way, it’s possible that she may have a chance on having the same class as her. This is probably just wishful thinking, however.
Well, it seems most people that Raven’s spoken with seem to have or had a strict parent in their life. She would think about her parents, but she prefers not to think about that. Before she could comment, immediately Clara stayed hyped with excitement that the vampire’s going to give her a tour around the town.
“Well I’m glad you think so. I hope not to bore you.” Raven gave her a friendly smile.
While beginning their walk around the town, Raven turned her face towards the happy blonde, whose filled with exhilaration over a...coin machine? No, the stickers in the coin machine. It’s as if nothing in this world could bring Clara down. Raven could only just look at her with a dumbfounded face as she watches her excitement come about. Usually with coin machines, it’s like hitting the lottery; you’re just hoping to win something that you want but most times, you don’t get it.
Before she’s able to say a word about taking the tour first, Raven soon had second thoughts. She doesn’t want raid on Clara’s parade. Why be a pushover, when you can let do what she pleases? After all, she’s new to this town.
Clara was obviously distracted by the simple coin machine, she failed to keep up with the conversation and tried remembering what Raven had asked.
“Ah, I’m a second year student!” Clara smiled and then went back to staring at the machine before shoving coins into the machine. Every time Clara put her coins in she never received what she wanted, Clara grew more and more frustrated and soon that frustration turned to complaints and whining.
“Why! Why has my lord abandoned me!” She whimpered sadly at the machine. “My collection! Is all the legacy I have!!!” Clara slumped onto her head onto Raven’s shoulder, Clara acted like a child who was upset about not getting a toy they wanted.
“My life is practically over! Over I tell you!” Clara whined and pouted and proceeded to kick the coin machine out of anger, bystanders looked at Clara with bewilderment, it was obvious Clara was drawing a crowd.
At least Clara tries to keep up with the conversation, even though she’s being distracted by this coin machine. Oh well, can’t really do much now. There’s still plenty of time to keep doing the tour. Besides, she’s a second-year student unfortunately. Since she’s a new person in town, who knows, Clara might be in the same class as Raven. At least she’ll have some sort of company there. All the better, right?
“Huh, well maybe we can meet at Ryoutei some time in the future. We can have lunch together or something.” She smiled, reassuring herself as she walks up towards Clara while the blonde’s busy with the coin machine.
Wow, she’s seems rather...passionate about her likings to pandas. If not, dramatic? To consider it as a legacy, doesn’t it seem much? The vampire couldn’t really complain, she doesn’t really know Clara that much, yet. She doesn’t know exactly what to do as the girl whines onto her shoulder. Suddenly, she started attacking the machine in a fit, making a scene. This is honestly embarrassing to watch. Raven never has exactly dealt with someone who overreacts to something so small before. To stop everyone from gazing at the blonde, she placed her hands on Clara’s shoulders, consoling her,
“There, there. Perhaps I can help you get it.”
If she’s going to get this panda, Raven’s not going to waste her money on it. She’s going to have no choice but to do a quick technique.
Clara perked up and immediately stopped attacking the machine. The crowd shrug off what had happened and walk away.
“Can you really get it for me?! I’ll be eternally grateful, but this is a coin machine and it’s all peer chance how can you get it?” Clara poked at her cheek very curious on Raven’s solution to this problem. “Oh about the school lunch thing, definitely we can hangout, it’ll be fun. I know I can be a little too much at times, but I’ll try and make up for it.” Clara smiled, then she scratched the back of her head. “I promise after this sticker tantrum. I’ll let you lead me wherever you see fit.” Clara stuck out her pinky, seemed everything Clara ever did was childish it was like she was a toddler stuck in a teenagers body, but even so something was sweet and innocent about this.
What a terrible excuse to use her vampire powers. Oh fucking well.

Chance, shmance. Who needs to pay the coin machine when you can break it?
“No worries, I got this.” Raven patted Clara’s shoulder in reassurance. At least the townspeople walked away from the scene; easier for her to take care of this. However, she’s not sure if Clara’s human or not. From what her physical appearance is like, it’s more than likely that she is. She can’t witness this either, but she can see the outcome. Unfortunately, they’ll need to get away from the scene, quick.
“Now before I help you out. I need you to close your eyes, first. No peeking, please?” Raven requested to the blonde. The vampire cannot let the human girl see her break the machine, whatsoever. Honestly, it could be easily breakable without the need of vampiric strength, but still.
This is a good bargain, she gets to tour Clara around, Clara will not witness her vampiric strength. She did the pinky promise with the girl, barely feeling the warmth of her finger. Yep, she’s human alright.
“Deal.”
While Clara has her eyes closed, the vampire took a double check of the environment around her, making sure that no other human is around. Immediately, with one strike from her fist, Raven busts open the coin machine, grabbing out the panda sticker and grabs Clara by the arm, dragging her away from the scene.
Taking some distance down the streets, Raven handed the sticker to the girl, “Here you go, problem solved. You can also open your eyes, now.” She gave out her pleasant smile.
Is it worth the journey or do I let my heart settle here
Clara assumed in all that heavy like clothing Raven would have been hot and possibly sweaty, but when the two crossed pinky’s Clara felt a rush of chilliness. Wow I never felt such a cold hand unless it was winter time, but it’s obvious it isn’t Clara still smiled thinking that maybe Raven was just in general a person who was extremely cold. Clara did as she was told and she turned around and closed her eyes. Clara kept wondering how Raven would ever get the panda sticker since out of all the stickers Clara had gotten, she was sure that maybe there wasn’t anymore stickers, then out of the blue, Clara heard metal and glass breaking, she jumped at the sound.
“U-um, Raven?” Before Clara could get an answer, Raven had whisked her away to another location, Clara tried to keep up, but given how she stays at home and hardly ever does exercise Clara was out of breath quite quickly. After what seemed like forever Clara was told to open up her eyes, Clara peaked out from one eye and she was handed her beloved panda sticker. Clara gasped and didn’t really bother to ask what the loud sound was and how Raven even got it in the first place and why they were suddenly running.
“Thanks so much! I could never live without this” Clara put it back into her small satchel. “Now as promised Raven.” Clara suddenly grabbed her chilly hands, Clara always found cold hands comforting, it was one of those weird things that Clara had always liked. “Let’s go off to wherever you wish to lead me, I promise not to get lost.” Clara saluted to Raven. Clara was excited to see what there was to see, Clara didn’t want to go home without knowing at least a few locations like maybe a grocery store, clothing store, household supply store and etc.
Raven's just like, "Bruh...how the fuck have you not figured it out, yet?"

Good. She didn’t ask any questions as to what happened or how Raven managed to get the panda sticker for her. All the better, than needing to make up a fake excuse that sounds believable to the human girl. It also surprised the vampire that Clara didn’t question about her icy touch. It probably wasn’t that noticeable since it’s just pinkies binding together for a promise. Had it been like a handshake, it might’ve been more questionable. That, or Clara’s just oblivious in general, who knows?
Why bring it up, though? The vampire got away with it and that’s all that matters. The blonde girl gets what she wants, Raven’s not in trouble, and everyone’s happy.
“No problem, anything to help someone out.” The urge to bow to Clara urked Raven. It was such a habit, mostly because she was once a noblewoman. Instead of bowing the human, she just nodded her head. The blonde took the vampire by surprise, once she took hold of her hands. Wow, she must be really oblivious about her cold hands. The weather’s not even cold enough for a usual person to get cold skin! Raven thought that Clara might have question it, immediately but...looks like she hasn’t figured it out. That’s great, right?
“Well, since we’re here at the downtown, let’s start with…” Raven takes a look around the environment. Where to start, where to start? She suddenly snapped her fingers, “Ah yes, first off, we shall go to the business district!”
