[attr="class","textieno"]After the Ryoutei “tutoring” incident, Ruki’s anger was at the peak of its limit. His blood practically boiling because of the fact that he to deal with an obnoxious second-year, who intentionally acted that way because of a panda plush. Ridiculous.[break][break]
He texted Yuma that he won’t be going home any time soon, making him in charge of the manor. Usually Kou would be the one in charge, but because of a couple of “incidents” that happened, it’ll only look suspicious. He doesn’t need Kou’s teasing, he’s crossed with the second-year and having to attack her in result. He didn’t even bother to wait until she awakens, he left the school building as soon as she went limp.[break][break]
He had to go and drink again, he needed to calm down his mood. There was the bar at the red light district, but it happens to have a “certain someone” over there that he promised himself to never see, again. Luckily, that’s not the only bar here in Kamina; there are other bars at downtown Kamina, multiples actually. The chances of seeing her now are slim to nothing, she’s probably busy working right now and that’s fine, even better.[break][break]
The eldest Mukami makes his way to the entertainment district of downtown Kamina, where all the bars, clubs and lounges reside. Never did he think that he would ever be at this district ever, unless it involves Kou. Even then, he usually doesn’t come by here. Instead of going to a bar, he decided to go to one of the lounges in Kamina. Probably less active and more quiet than a usual bar anyway, which is exactly what he needs.[break][break]
Making his way in one of the lounges, it was mainly quiet and it gave off that calm atmosphere. There are a couple of people inside but it isn’t at all a huge crowd; some sat at the bar and others sat at the tables, having idle chit-chat in a low voice. The lighting is rather dim but it isn’t fully dark to where the lights at the bar were blinding and contrasting the darkness around. A perfect balance with light and dark. There’s music playing in a low volume, smooth jazz or blues happened to be the genre which is rather fitting in the lounge. It’s calming and peaceful in here, easy enough for the vampire to settle in, have a drink or two, and ease his mood.[break][break]
Without even having second thoughts, Ruki sat at the bar, waiting for a bartender to ask what he wants. Patience may have ran out back at Ryoutei, but because of the calm atmosphere in this building, it kicked back in for the time being.[break][break]
When the bartender finally approached him, Ruki asked for bourbon with no ice...again. This time, he won’t make the same mistake to drink so quickly. Just savor the flavor until the taste is gone and take another sip. The bartender set him a glass, grabbing out a bottle and prepared his drink. Ruki didn’t really watch him, he looked down with his hand running through his dark locks of hair. Once the bartender finished and slid his drink close, Ruki dismissed him and grabbed his glass. He brought it to his lips, taking a small sip of the bourbon and put the glass down as he let the beverage stay in his mouth before swallowing it, completely.[break][break]
He analyzed the lounge once more, the jazz music playing softly, and everyone seeming to mind their business due to them drinking, instead of talking. All seemed dandy until by the corner of the eldest Mukami’s eyes, he caught a glimpse to the side; a female with fully lush brunette hair and a rather curvaceous body. She wore a purple cold shoulder flutter top, white crop pants, gold caged high heels along with some rings and bracelets that matches the outfit.[break][break]
No way is that her, it’s just his imagination toying with him, playing mind tricks. It’s probably someone who resembles that girl at the red light district. However, Ruki couldn’t help but take a further look; he regretted it after.[break][break]
It’s her. It’s really her, of all places. When he wanted to avoid ever seeing her, it just so happens that out of all the bars and lounges he could’ve gone to, he goes to the one she’s at. Unbelievable.[break][break]
Immediately he took his eyes away from her, Jen. He knows he can’t just leave because he wants to take his time drinking his bourbon but now the formerly calm atmosphere that was here, ends up turning into an awkward one.[break][break]
Though she couldn't have told you an exact reason why, Jen felt like going out tonight. It was a half day of school, and she'd heard from some of her co-workers that there was a lounge in downtown that was good for people who liked the feel of a bar, without the chaotic atmosphere of one. What turned her hand, though, was the fact that she was told the general musical fare was mostly jazz and blues, mellow and soulful stuff. Some said it had a vaguely nostalgic atmosphere; the dhampir, honestly, kind of craved it.
Some might say she went a little overboard with her outfit, but as far as Jen was concerned, for a night on the town like this (especially considering how rarely she bothered to get dressed up), there was almost no such thing as too much. Luckily, she usually managed to make her outfit overwhelming without being tacky, and tonight was no exception. She'd even went and had her nails done earlier today, before school; a French manicure, to be specific.
When she arrived, sure enough, she heard the voice of Billie Holiday resonating through the room. The place felt relaxed and intimate, but was neither super trendy nor did it feel divey; it was just the right balance, as she was told. The bartender tonight was a not-unattractive guy, and she greeted him with a smile as she leaned over the bar, "Hey bartender~ what'cha got for house specials? Actually... surprise me with something fruity, if you please."
White cranberry juice, some vodka, and lychee, served up in a martini glass, and Jen had a good traveling drink. A bit of chit-chat with the people there, her bracelets clinking softly against each other as she gestured, she didn't even hear that vaguely familiar voice ordering a bourbon at the bar. However, when she came up to get another drink, she glanced to her side, and saw a highball glass full of amber liquid, then a head of coiffed black hair. The profile certainly rang a bell, too~
Her lip half-curled into a smirk, and as her second martini was served, she purred a bit, "Well hello there, Mr. Dark and Mysterious. Mukami Ruki, yes? Fancy running into you again~ what brings you to this little joint?"
Maybe she was a little bit too nice considering the conversation that had happened between them; but, it was amazing how far that drink had gotten her as far as being more open to socializing (not that she had that much issue with doing it sober).
[attr="class","textieno"]Please do not notice, or even dare come over here.[break][break]
That’s all Ruki began to think, knowing that she’s here and that his drink isn’t even near close to empty. As long as she doesn’t see him, he should be in the clear. To keep himself distracted, he took another sip, savoring that aged flavor of the bourbon before swallowing. If all goes well, he will be able to leave the lounge in peace. Might as well just have one drink for tonight instead of two.[break][break]
But that however, is only wishful thinking.[break][break]
He didn’t even notice until the sounds of footsteps approached near and then, that purring sound of her voice spoke to him. She even called him by his full name.[break][break]
Damn it. Leave me be.[break][break]
He has to keep calm, he knows he needs to, or else this will all be wasted. He doesn’t even want to look at her or even acknowledge that she’s talking to him, but it would all come out rude and not give him a professional image on his part if he chooses to ignore her. He took another sip of his bourbon again and reluctantly, turned his face towards her. Seeing her fully and standing before him, it’s clear that it’s Jen. That face of hers is unforgettable. Plus, she stood out more than anyone else around here, mostly because of her darker shade of skin. It took every bit of sense in Ruki to not tell her to buzz off, but it was a temptation. He even restrained himself to not break the highball glass in his hand.[break][break]
“To be frank, it’s mostly because I didn’t want to see you but apparently, this is all but sheer coincidence that we both happen to be in the same spot.” He answered her question, refusing to add about the attack at Ryoutei Academy.[break][break]
“I see you chose to call me by name now, a quick change of mind?”
"Small world," Jen responded. She took a sip of the lychee and cranberry cocktail, "I mean I only work part time, and I do have a life outside of my job."
The dhampir didn't know what compelled her, but she settled in at the bar chair next to him, and crossed her legs as she savored her spirits, "I only agreed to call you your name more often, and figured I'd show you the offer is still there if you're willing to meet me halfway. It won't kill you to say my name once in a while."
She took another swallow, and began to swirl the glass, her pinky extended as the vortex formed, "Another rough night, I take it? Kinda had a long week, myself. Came here for the music, dunno if you're that into blues or jazz, but that's apparently a big draw for this place."
Jen watched him take another sip, and her expression fell a bit because she felt that he was considerably more tense than he was the other night. If there was any way she could get him to open up, she would gladly be a listening ear. With a soft sigh, her head hung for a moment, then she looked back up at the vampire beside her, "Listen, Ruki... if you don't mind staying a little while, I'd like to buy you a drink. Anything you want, you name it, it's on me."
[attr="class","textieno"]“I’m not surprised.” Ruki had another sip of his bourbon, raising his brow at her.[break][break]
She decided to sit down right next to him, another worst thing to happen right now. It’d be much preferable if she just went back to her former seat and left him alone. He has no time for conversation; he just wants to have his drink of bourbon, call it good, and head back to the manor where he’ll be calm and collected. Even if he has his brothers to tolerate.[break][break]
Still she asks for him to see her more equally. She better stop hoping and just give up on him, because that’s not going to happen ever in Ruki’s eternal lifetime. To view someone, especially one who gave off the first impression of being salacious up to his standards seems like a joke. It’d be even a miracle if this is going to be the case. He looked back to his highball glass that’s still full.[break][break]
“I believe you don’t realize, I don’t view others similar to my standards that quick and easy.” He muttered, “The chances of me having to see someone as an “equal” is impractical. I highly suggest that you stop at whatever you’re trying to prove here, and move on with your life.”[break][break]
Before he could even take another sip of his bourbon, he stops himself in midst and hears Jen’s reasoning as to why she’s even here. She even pointed out about the week being a bit rough, and how she can relate to it. It’s like she’s somehow sensing that he’s not doing so well, and she’s right about it. However, he can’t bring himself to say that, he’s too much in his pride.[break][break]
“It’s...calming in its own sort of way.” Ruki responded, and continued from where he stopped to sip more of his bourbon.[break][break]
Before he could even sound her out and be ignorant towards her, he heard her words of offering him a drink, to stick around and he can have anything of his choosing because she’s paying. The vampire slowly glared at her, not with disgust but rather perplexed.[break][break]
“And why do you wish to buy me a drink? You don’t even know me well enough.” He turned his eyes towards his glass, “Besides, I can buy my own. So I am going to refuse the offer.”
"Well," in response to his remark about equality, she was glad that the was getting a hint of a buzz, just to keep herself from getting overly irritated at him, "what, exactly, is this notion you have that you aren't equal to me? We're just two more people sitting in a lounge, drinking to make life go down a little easier. We probably have more in common than we have differences."
She took another swig, maybe a bigger one than she should have; she paused her thought to ask the bartender for a glass of ice water with lime. Then, she got a response from him that was closer to what she hoped for, but at the same time, wholly unexpected:
“It’s...calming in its own sort of way.”
Okay, good, good. They were getting somewhere now. It wasn't really much, but even that proverbial inch of give felt like a good sign. Though... this was probably one of the few times she'd had someone turn down an offer for her to buy them a drink. Did he think she had ulterior motives? She supposed she couldn't blame him - although she'd seen it done far more often by men toward women, she knew well that people of all genders sometimes tried to use this as leverage toward a less than savory goal. That said, she didn't have any interest in bedding him or any similar activity; as far as Jen was concerned, if that was her intent, he not only would have known it by now, but she often made a point to make such intentions plainly obvious from the start.
"No, I don't know you very well. That's the point though," she fixed her hazel gaze on his icy blues, even if he wasn't looking directly at her, "I want to get to know you. I... I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I want to try and change that."
She took a drink of her lime-infused water, set it back down, and pulled out her wallet, "It's not the money that matters here. I don't know what it is about you, but you have this... aura. I can't explain it, but of all the people I've met who have it, not one has ever been dull or stupid. I don't think you're any exception to that."
This was a thoroughly sincere statement; Jen was good at stroking egos, but she never did it falsely. It was strictly against her ethos to do so.
The dhampir finished her martini, and began to trail her fingertip absentmindedly (or perhaps pensively) along the rim of the glass, "Now, I'm about to order my third drink. Do you want anything?"
[attr="class","textieno"]“We probably have more in common than we have differences."[break][break]
Ruki wanted to pretend he didn’t hear that. The idea of having something in common with this...possible harlot is just insulting to him. Disgusting.[break][break]
“I do not have anything in common with the likes of you.” His voice turned bitter. He swirls his glass of bourbon and takes in another sip, only this time he took more in than the ones before. To be compared with her, it’s unimaginable. He believes there are many differences between Jen and himself. As for anything in common, he can’t think of one thing.[break][break]
He watched as Jen got another drink. He’s still on his first glass that’s only half way done. He just needs to consume the last half, and then leave the premises before she talks to him any more longer. The idea of leaving immediately still remains on his mind, he wants to avoid her and keep his word on not seeing, but those thoughts were being interrupted; the scent she has on her is distracting. It’s rather citrus-like? Tropical? Either way, the scent wafted at his face. It’s only going to be much more difficult for the Mukami to ignore her because of the smell. How did he not notice the perfume she must’ve put on?[break][break]
Wait a minute, she wants to get to know him? That’s new. Aside from his younger siblings, and the sacrificial bride, Yui Komori; who had tempted to do the same motive with him, no other person has ever approached the vampire to acknowledge him better.[break][break]
“If I may ask, can you explain why do you want to know me? What sort of thought convinced you to learn more about me?” He turned his eyes towards Jen’s, making eye contact. Admittedly, this is intriguing but he’s not going to admit that. Besides, he’s rather distrustful of her.[break][break]
Again, this is intriguing, she managed to sense some intelligence in him. Whatever her motives are, she caught his attention,[break][break]
“Well, you’re certainly not wrong about my intelligence.”[break][break]
Because she somehow manage to have him engage, the offering of a drink didn’t sound as bad; he grew curiosity.[break][break]
“I’ll take the usual” He lifted his glass of bourbon.
“I do not have anything in common with the likes of you.”
Again, maybe it was the alcohol, but Jen let out a clipped chuckle, "Well, you can't really know that for sure if we don't know each other, right? I might surprise you."
He was nothing if not stubborn. Sometimes her encounters with such people proved to be exhausting, a waste of time; she, too, tended to have trouble backing down from such things and it usually took either them leaving, or third party intervention, to end it. However, once in a while they proved to have something really fascinating to say once it as wormed out of them. She hoped Ruki fell into this latter category.
The half-smile returned, and her circling finger paused, "You didn't have to tell me twice. You're sharp. I can admire that trait in a person."
At his acceptance, Jen flagged down the bartender again, "Hey, hon, may I get another one of these," she handed over her empty glass, "and when he's finished, get him another bourbon, no ice. Put it on my check."
While waiting on their drinks, she turned not just her head, but her body toward him, and switched the cross in her legs; the buzz was starting to kick in, so she took a few more swigs of her water, and started, "What do you do when you're not, you know, drinking away the day's bullshit? You go to the university up here?"
[attr="class","textieno"]A part of Ruki wanted to roll his eyes when she said that. However, she’s right about it being possibly a surprise. Then again, he’s almost had enough of surprises for the past few days.[break][break]
The circular motion of her finger tracing around her martini glass stopped. She can admire an intelligence trait, she says. Once again, whatever motive she’s aiming at towards him, it’s more than likely not gonna happen. However, that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop the conversation there. He ought to test her, or play whatever game this might be, just to see clearly on what this could lead to.[break][break]
“You seem to know which ones to aim for, quite a good taste.” He took in another sip his drink, keeping his eyes focusing on her and his ears open; analyzing any and every move she’ll make, any gesture she gives out, every word she may say. If any of those come out off-putting, then the suspicion can become very clear. Just stay in focus and do not ignore her moves.[break][break]
Good grief, how many drinks is she going to take? Isn’t that her fourth glass? Ruki won’t be surprised if she consumes enough to the point where she’ll become plastered. Either she knows what she’s doing, or she’s going to be showing her true colors. This should be interesting, perhaps if she does, he’ll figure her out, immediately.[break][break]
The vampire began observing her movements: face and body turning towards him, legs changing on the crossing. She drank some water while at it; maybe she does know what she’s doing. Definitely, he noticed her use of profanity. Just like in the text messages, the "professionalism" she had when he first her is all just for her job.[break][break]
“I don’t blame you on assuming so, but honestly, I am not in a university much to everyone’s surprise. I happen to be attending the school, Ryoutei Academy.” Maybe since she’ll acknowledge that he’s in fact a high schooler, whatever her plans may be, they might come to an end, right here.[break][break]
He swirled the bourbon in his glass, “I’m guessing you’re a college student?” It wouldn’t be a surprise that she is.
Instead of starting to sip right away, Jen took her freshest drink, and continued the finger trailing on the rim; though, this time instead of full circles, she opted for metronome-like arcs, sweeping back and forth. She could feel Ruki's eyes on her, watching intently. It wasn't in a lascivious way, she saw no such hunger reflected in the steel of his irises: rather, she felt vulnerable in a wholly different way, like she was about to be incised with a scalpel and used for vivisection. For the first time since the night began, she felt incredibly self-conscious... but mama didn't raise a quitter.
What he said next, surprised her, frankly. He's a high school student? She could have sworn he was at least 20, maybe 21. And what was still more surprising, they both attended the night school, Ryoutei. Her reaction to this was subtle, but visible to the keen observer (which meant, she was about 200% sure that Ruki caught it): her eyes widened just the slightest bit, her brows flicked upward, and her body reflexively flinched backward by a few centimeters.
Instinctively, to try and save any face she could, she flashed a small yet toothy grin, and lowered her voice a bit, "Only high school, huh? Someone's not as straight-laced as he seems~ but, I'll let you in on a little secret..."
Jen took a sip of her cocktail, then leaned in, putting her other hand up to shield her mouth as if telling some juicy gossip, "I also go to Ryoutei~ so I can't really call you out on it!"
Her posture straightened again, "Before I get too far ahead of myself... is there anything you wanna know about me first?" Another sip, and her voice took on her signature purr, "Between you and me, I'm practically an open book. You could probably ask me just about anything and I'll answer you truthfully."
[attr="class","textieno"]He still kept a close eye on her, not even finishing his bourbon that was slightly less than half empty. He’s expecting a reaction from his answer of being a high schooler. A shocking reaction, and there it is. He caught her eyes widening, taken aback along with her body language. They were small reflexes, yes, but not enough to where Ruki couldn’t catch it.[break][break]
Perfect, let’s hear what she has to say about that. He thought. If she gives an expected answer, this conversation can end shortly, and he already can confirm his first impression on her. That’ll make his day satisfying.[break][break]
Once again, wishful thinking. She’s grinning?[break][break]
"Only high school, huh? Someone's not as straight-laced as he seems~ but, I'll let you in on a little secret..."[break][break]
Wait a minute, secret? No...it can't be. Is she going to say what Ruki might think she's going to say?[break][break]
She got closer, doing the whole shielding the mouth so that no one can supposedly hear, and gave out this secret she has mentioned. Seriously, is she kidding? Is this some sort of sick joke? Just when Ruki thought that all will seem satisfying in the end, it’s not going to turn out that way. Jen’s also a high schooler, it makes sense now that he’s coming to realize it. That’s how Kou knows about her, how could he forget? She’s a transfer student who’s attending Ryoutei Academy.[break][break]
Damn it, why?[break][break]
Just when he thought he could figure her out instantly, everything just happens to backfire on him. She’s probably around if not, the same biological age he is. If he was a religious man, he would be wanting some patience to be granted on him. In fact, he’d want to know why has some deity forsaken him.[break][break]
This question game might be dangerous, and without hesitation, the vampire took down his drink like it was in a shot glass. Be calm, don’t ask any questions that sound foolish, make it simple and try to figure her out. That’s mainly what’s crossing his mind. But the fact that she’s in Ryoutei, he has to know. The first question popped into his head immediately.[break][break]
“First off, since you attend the same school, what year do you happen to be in?”
Christ, that was sudden; Ruki downed the rest of that bourbon like a shot, what happened to those careful sips he'd been taking? This definitely got Jen feeling a tad uneasy, because spontaneous action was one thing, but if he got too unpredictable...
Deep breaths, Jen. Just stay calm, you'll be able to better defend yourself if you keep a cool head.
She drew one in as she took a sip of her martini, then met his eyes again before answering his question, "I happen to be a third-year student. I take it that you are too?"
Another soft chuckle, and now instead of tracing her fingertips over the glass, she began to slowly strum them on the bar top while the other hand took up the duty of nursing the drink, "Either way, it's entirely possible that we've seen each other in the hallways at some point and not known any better. Like I said, small world."
Her tongue flicked out to wet her lips a bit, her lip gloss half gone by now, lost to the edges of the cone-shaped glass. Then, she continued that thought, "Well, if you don't mind me asking, do you plan to go to college after you graduate?"
[attr="class","textieno"]He should’ve never asked that question, and just let it go under the assumption that she’s the same year as him. Curiosity has killed the cat.[break][break]
“Affirmative.” He answered, putting the empty highball glass aside, and slowly grabbing the other one. This isn’t going how he had thought it would. Forget asking the age, it’s more than likely since she’s a third year, that she’s probably eighteen or at least going to be.[break][break]
Because Ruki is always occupied when it comes to school, he never took the time to actually recognize any student, unless it’s the Sakamakis or Yui. Other than that, the other students are practically nothing else to him. They just blended along with the school. If he has ever passed by Jen, it’s more than likely he never saw her, at all. If she’s in one of his classes…[break][break]
The thought of it gives him a sickening feeling. How could he not have noticed, if so? Especially now that he has met with her?[break][break]
“It would seem so. Rather too small.” He takes a small sip, this time. The bourbon isn’t doing him much of a favor, but then again, Ruki’s not drinking it so quickly like last time. At this point, he didn’t pay much attention to Jen’s movements since he was in too much of the idea that she’s a third-year like him. The chances of him ever seeing Jen are even higher, now. Why couldn’t she be a college student? Things would’ve been much easier.[break][break]
“I don’t see why not.” Ruki does have the intelligence and high grades. College would be the right path to take and he actually looks forward to attend after graduation.[break][break]
“I suppose you might do the same, or are you going to stick with just having a job occupation, instead?” At this rate, any question he may ask, the answers Jen may give out in return, and Ruki will keep questioning himself. He'll wonder if this is a sort of punishment he has to deal with because of whatever heinous acts he’s done. Let alone, the punishment is having a woman that he’s so distrustful of because she gives off lecherous vibes.[break][break]
Nothing personal against him, but if Jen had shared any classes with him, she probably would have known by now. Hell, given how distinctive she looked here, he probably would have known too, at least in her opinion.
"What do you think you'd want to study?" It was an innocent enough question, though part of her fully prepared for an ambiguous or noncommittal answer. Ruki struck her as the decisive type, but sometimes even the most firmly opinionated didn't really know how to respond to such an inquiry. It was often intelligent sorts who struggled with this because so many doors are open to them.
As to him tossing the same question back at her, she gave him a cheeky grin (careful to keep her fang tips concealed by her bottom lip - a habit she'd developed for safety's sake) and laughed, "My dad is a professor at Okuda, like it's literally the whole reason I'm here. He'd rake me over the coals if I told him I didn't want to pursue my higher education!"
Honestly, Jen had a four-year degree already, but she had eventually grown to not want anything to do with that field of study. She'd been in the working world for a while, but due to the difficulty of finding a place to live on her own, her tight-knit family bonds, and truthfully, the fact that she likely needed a huge refresher on fundamental education, she'd found herself back in high school. Granted, she knew she was probably older than most of the student body ("oh, if only he knew..." she thought), but with her slower aging - both physically and mentally - she didn't really feel that out of place among humans who were a quarter her actual age.
She tapped her fingernails on the bar in rapid fire as her thoughts gathered again, "I still have no idea what I'd want to major in, though. Maybe I'll take a few more languages, or pursue something culinary?" The dhampir shrugged, and took another sip, "I just know I want something that allows me to interact with a lot of different kinds of people. Moving around so much gets you used to it, you start to miss it."
Jen went for yet another sip, and her eyes fixed on the vampire again. One more question danced on her tongue, tickling the inside of her lips, and the mounting buzz of the alcohol allowed it to slip out, "Ruki, if you don't mind me asking: what are you? Like... what nationality?"
[attr="class","textieno"]So far, no question has been extremely personal. It’s all basic questions for now, and hopefully, it’ll stick that way than going any deeper.[break][break]
“My plans so far is to consider taking an English major.” Ruki knows very well about English, even being proficient with the language. It shouldn’t be too difficult to take that course, instead. There’s also literature and history, since Ruki is very much a reader, but he believed there might be a bigger branch of varieties in the English department rather than the literature. As for history, after all that him and his brothers dealt with, forget it. He’s seen enough, he knows what’s happened, he doesn’t need a whole repeat to go through.[break][break]
There’s that cheeky grin of hers, Ruki looked away for a moment to take more sips of his bourbon. What’s she going to say this time? That she’s definitely going to go and they end up taking the same university?[break][break]
It’s confirmed that she is, but it’s because of her father having to work there. This is why she’s here in the first place. It isn’t because she chose to be here, it’s the fact that she has no choice but to. Does her father even know she works as a bartender at the red light district? Either she’s secretive, or her father lets her do what she pleases, as long as she gets herself an education. Or that she’s just extremely independent of her own will. She also explained how she wants to have a career that involves her to socialize with others, but isn’t she sociable now? Does she not have anyone to talk to? Why is she talking with him, of all people?![break][break]
“I see.” He kept himself from facing her, swirling the bourbon around in his glass. She makes it seem as though they’ve moved around multiple times. If that’s the case...[break][break]
“What brings your father here then, if you tend to move around so much?” He had to ask. Surely, there’s a reason that her father came here for.[break][break]
He can feel her eyes on him, resulting the vampire to glare at her, but not completely facing her.[break][break]
