If you wish to thread with a canon character (which, presumably, that’s what drew many of our membership here: the desire to interact with the Diabolik Lovers characters, as well as with the original characters of other fans), please consider your proposals carefully.



What this means is, try to stay away from highly stereotypical thread ideas.



We understand, you want to put your character in a situation with the canons, that’s similar to what you saw in the games, or the anime. It’s a normal thing to want to do. However, you also have to consider that the canon muns are people too; we get bored and frustrated when we’re constantly bombarded with the same plot points. One of the fantastic things about Diabolik Lovers, that gives it appeal for role-playing, is that the characters are well-written and multi-dimensional; as such, no one wants their character treated like a one-trick pony (which applies to canons and OCs alike).

There are, of course, other examples of this, but the point is that most of us have done or have been asked to do these threads a million times. It gets old very quickly. Before you plot with a canon, take care to avoid these tropes as much as possible. Canon muns - unlike their muses - don’t bite, and in the spirit of encouraging creativity and discourse, please do not hesitate to correspond with the mun and see if you can come up with a thread idea that will be fun for all parties involved. Canon muns are given some creative liberties in playing their muses here on Moonlight Awakening, as long as it can be justified as in-character (OOC RPs should be taken to our Crack RP sub-board, or off-site), so don’t be afraid to think outside the box.



Canon muns, just like OC muns, have the right to turn down requests at their discretion. We will try to remain polite and understanding, we ask that you afford us the same respect. Please do not come complaining to the staff if your proposal is rejected, as we will not force the mun to thread with you if they have decided they don’t want to. Just move on - there are plenty of other muns and muses for you to thread with - or consider an idea that’s not so stereotypical/predictable.



Again, please do not take this as us discouraging you from threading with the canons at all, or trying to rain on your parade. If anything, consider it an opportunity to try something new, to branch out, and maybe see a whole other side of your desired character! Mostly, we ask you to remember that muns like variety just as much as you do.
