In the darkest of night, the sky was nearly black but had a tint of blue by the light of the half moon and there was little to no sound around the outer areas of Kamina. A soulless night, no doubt but yet it still seemed peaceful. It was after all around the time where usually everyone would be sound asleep, waiting for the sun to rise and begin a new day. However, it wasn’t like that for creatures of the night such as vampires, for example.
At the park of Kamina, it was all silent until the sounds of footsteps were heard on the sidewalk. The heels hitting against the concrete made a slight echo until they weren’t heard anymore as they began to walk on the grass and dirt. A lonely vampire wandered around with a distressed look on her face as if she had seen something unpleasant tonight. Her breathing was a bit shaky and her hazel eyes looked glossy. Her pallid hands clutched on her arms like she was cold but yet the weather tonight was pretty fair, no breeze or temperature drops. She walked slowly to a nearby tree trunk and leaned against it, her breathing rattled and her tired looking eyes gazing at the half moon. It was quite a relief that tonight was not the night of the full moon since vampires are at their most bloodthirsty, their ravenous behavior would creep in and surely they would go for the kill, always in search for blood.
The vampire wasn’t thirsty however, she knew to control herself but the reason for her looking so fragile wasn’t because of a dry and tightened throat, but because of memories she longed to forget. Memories she locked in the back of her mind for centuries that she tried not to think about and yet, they still come around and haunt her.
(“It’s that house.”) She thought, (“That place is what’s triggering these nightmares.”)
She wanted to leave her home for the longest time, abandon it forever so she can be free from what she believed was a curse. Nevertheless, she felt something from that house that she couldn’t seem to figure out was holding her back, as if it still wants her there. Whatever this cursed thing was, it’s preventing her to leave and the black-haired vampire felt like she had been clawing for her freedom but failed many times.
After a little while later, the black-haired female’s legs had given out from wobbling and she practically slid down on the tree’s trunk and onto the ground. She could only stare up at the dead sky with very faint stars appearing above. She thought about considering to just rest here at the park, it’s away from home and there was more of a peaceful atmosphere that she can at least tolerate. Her eyelids felt a bit heavy and she was nearly drifting to slumber until a sudden noise was heard and her eyes fluttered open immediately, losing the tired feeling as she was startled by it.
“Who’s out there?” She turned her head to the direction of where the sound was made.
A seemingly young girl was walking alone in the park. She looked as if she didn't pay any attention to her surroundings as she walked, but in actuality, she was extremely wary. Even though it was the time when the park would be at relatively it's most quiet state, it was also the time where any creature of the night would be out and who knows, she might be stumbled upon some random nasty creature. It might be not a full moon, but some people just couldn't control their desire, be it for food or something else—Rurutie didn't like that at all. For a vampire lady like her, those with uninhibited desires were even lower than animals—a trash.
Fortunately, the park was indeed quiet. The vampire sighed in relief as she continued walking. A moment later she became alert again as she heard some noises. Rurutie turned her head to the direction where the noises were coming and saw a cat running out of the bushes, followed by another, only to stop in front of Rurutie and shouting at each other at the top of their lungs. Whatever those cats' problem was, they made the dark-haired vampire startled for a moment before eventually trying to shoo them. Of course, being cats—and not her own cats on top of that—they paid little to no attention to her.
It seemed the cats' fight disturbed someone else, since Rurutie heard a voice coming from somewhere. "Just cats, I think," replied Rurutie rather nonchalantly as she turned to a female who was leaning against a tree trunk nearby. By that time, one of the cats started to run away from the other, only to be chased by the latter. Rurutie sighed, somewhat relieved. "And they're gone now—I guess."

Lyrics;; "Unlocked girl ~ Misshitsu wo Deta Shoujo" by IOSYS Template by Kuroya of THQ & GS.
How silly of her, to be frightened of the sounds of cats causing a ruckus. A vampire being in fear in general already sounds ridiculous, Raven was after all a creature of the night, and by sole purpose, should be fearless. But was it truly foolish for vampires to have fears?
The vampire shook the thoughts of her head, it must’ve been that time of the night of wishful thinking. She slowly turned her gaze to what happened to be another person out at this time. Had she been a ravenous vampire who showed no mercy, she would’ve made this person regret coming out here and feasted upon her with no haste. However, Raven was nowhere near like that, if many people knew her, they would see her as very merciless and gentle. Besides, this person did nothing wrong, she had reassured her in some way at least and that was enough to ease the tension she had earlier.
“Well, that’s quite a relief, no doubt.” Raven spoke up, giving out a sigh after. The environment went dead silent again, not a breathing soul around the park, aside from her and the other person, who she drew her hazel eyes to. The person was clearly a female and with Raven’s enhanced vampiric vision with the moonlight, in addition, she had long dark hair, with dark red ribbons tied to it, one on each side. She wore a carmine colored turtleneck and a short, pleated denim skirt, with a pair of black thigh highs and a pair of black mary janes to match.
“Who are you and what are you doing here at this time of the night, if I may ask?” Raven spoke again, breaking the silence and hoping to at least make the environment less awkward between the two females.

Rurutie nodded in agreement when the other female commented about how it was quite a relief to know that they were just cats. Of course, there was also the dark-haired vampire, but she didn't make any loud noises at all. Not even when she tried to shoo the cats—she just tried to sound as firm as possible, but as it could be seen, they simply ignored her. How rude.
She didn't know what the cats' problem actually, but she could guess what were the possibilities since she recognized they were tom cats. Annoying, noisy tom cats. Thank goodness the cats finally left before Rurutie got really flustered, though to be honest she already felt a little bit agitated when the cats were still being stubborn creatures that ignored her presence a moment ago. Again, how rude.
"Well then, I shall be—huh?"
Rurutie nearly stepped away from she was standing when she heard the other woman asking her about who she was and what she was doing at such a time. The cornflower blue-eyed vampire sighed before cancelled her steps and turned to face the short-haired female again to give her a reply.
"The name is Rurutie, no more, no less. I'm just walking around, I think."
Of course, she had a family name, but the young vampire rarely found that important, therefore, she rarely mentioned it. After all, she always preferred to be called by her first name. Being called formally using her family name sometimes sounded strange, if not irritating. Yet some people, like that woman for example, keep calling me Miyazawa-san no matter how many times I told her. Geez.

The tom cats scurried away from the park, it was rather fascinating how such creatures so small and domesticated, can manage to wander around and find ways to survive the environment. Yet of course, in order to survive, you have to be a practical predator.
Raven watched every move that the female made. Just by the first impression, she already seemed like a woman of high standards, possibly one who speaks very formal and sees themselves as someone superior. Great, what's next, the female being a member of aristocracy? Hopefully that wasn't the case. If so, Raven knew she might not be able to get along well with this woman. One thing that Raven disliked in a person is being egotistical or pompous. She believed in equality with everyone and that those who act superior upon others, are no more than just ignorant and cruel.
She thinks? Was this woman, Rurutie a bit clueless? Raven shook the thoughts out of her head, she figured that it is best to not jump under the assumption so soon.
"Well then, nice to meet you, Rurutie." The vampire nodded her head, still sitting down on the ground as she felt a bit weak to get up, at the moment. "My name is Raven Okazaki." She may as well give her her name as well, in return. Why act so mysterious? She noticed that Rurutie never gave out her surname. Was she nervous to bring it up? Ashamed of it? The vampire felt like she could relate to that, Raven of course had a different name, as the name "Raven" wasn't originally her name. The name she used to have was a name she longed to forget, a name that should never be mentioned, a name that became a curse to her.
If this was similar case for Rurutie's surname, then Raven jumped to an understanding and decided to not ask any questions about it.
"It's quite a calming night, don't you think?" She didn't what else to say, but admittedly, Raven wanted some company around at least to not think about the nightmare she had recently. She hoped Rurutie would be of good use.

It was only natural for Rurutie to try leaving the spot as soon as possible since she felt there was no reason why she should stay even for a minute. The vampire girl was not the type who would stop to start a chit-chat with a strangers, though sometimes she would respond to someone else talking to her, like what she did just a few seconds ago to the black-haired female. Her speaking tone did not actually show it, but if someone was observant enough, maybe they could see that Rurutie was feeling slightly uncomfortable. The fact that two cats made her a little bit agitated only worsened it.
"Mm," she gave the other girl—whose name was Raven Okazaki—a curt nod in response, "Nice to meet you too, I think."
The young vampire found that Raven's name was quite interesting. It was not just because her first name sounded foreign, like some people would feel when they heard her own name, but also because it was somehow befitting the woman as she had black hair. just like ravens with their black feathers. For a second, she wondered if Raven was really like a raven in personality—at the moment she could not made that much of a deduction, but in her eyes the short-haired woman seemed pretty much well-spoken and well-mannered. She also seems a little bit fragile, but maybe that's only me...
When Raven asked Rurutie whether if she think that it was quite a calming night, the dark-haired vampire let out a sigh before she said, "Yes, it's pretty much a calming night, I think." Of course, there was the ruckus that was caused by the cats' earlier, but somehow Rurutie agreed with the black-haired female that it was a quiet, peaceful night. Not much people around, not much things happened—
—I still feel somewhat uncomfortable after what happened earlier, though.
There was a moment of silence as Rurutie did not know what to say. She was not someone who was good with conversation unless she was already comfortable with the other person, so she was a little bit clueless to continue the talk between her and the other female. A part of her wanted to excuse herself and go, but another felt like Raven needed a company. After thinking for a second, Rurutie walked towards the black-haired woman and sat right next to her, her voice breaking the awkward momentary silence.
"It's a peaceful night, but you seem—" There was a little pause as Rurutie glanced at Raven and sighed. "—distressed, I think."
She would not ask Raven to tell what her problem was, as she did not like telling strangers about her problem herself. But if the short-haired vampire really wanted a company, then she would try her best to accompany her for a while.

So many “I thinks”. What was with that? Is this girl very clueless at the very moment? Raven was sure that Rurutie isn’t stupid or anything but...oh dear, what if she’s just unsure of things right now? Uncomfortable, maybe? The vampire gritted her teeth, is she giving out an awkward vibe?
“If I am making you feel uneasy, I apologize. I do not by any means, wish to give out such an atmosphere for you.” Raven sighed, “If you want to leave, go on ahead. I will not stop you.” She turned her face away from Rurutie, staring back at the moon and leaning her head back against the trunk of the tree.
The seemingly clueless girl however, did not leave. Instead, she noted out the distressed look on Raven’s face. Was it truly that noticeable? Maybe this was enough to convince her to stay and keep her company, for all the while. Perhaps clearing away all the uneasiness and possibly, this could get them acquainted, somehow.
“Well, if we’re being honest here, I guess you could say I’ve been having a rough night lately.” Raven shrugged, “Just couldn’t manage to get some peaceful sleep, y’know?” Quite odd however, in a vampire’s view at least. Is not a truthful fact that vampires are supposed to be up at this time of the night and sleep in the day? Raven should actually be awake and active, but she wanted to rest throughout dawn and dusk. Tonight however, couldn’t be that night for her. It should also be noted that even vampires, too, can have dreadful nightmares.

When the other female apologized for giving an uneasy atmosphere, Rurutie just muttered quietly to herself, "It's okay, I guess."
While it was true that she felt a bit uncomfortable, the young vampire did not want to make other feel guilty. After all, it was not the woman's fault. Hell, to be honest it was no one's fault—not even the noisy cats that already left a while ago. Sure, Rurutie could blame anyone if she wanted to but no, she knew this was the result of her easily flustered and anxious nature. Sometimes the dark-haired vampire could keep her emotions in check, but sometimes, especially when she was in a crowd or noisy places, she just could not. And, just as she mentioned before, she was not that good with strangers.
Despite Raven's permission to go ahead and leave if she wanted to, Rurutie chose to stay instead after debating within her own self. Of course, she could just ignore the side that convinced her to keep the other woman company because somehow she seemed in a distress and go with her original plan to go ahead and continue her stroll around the park, but it seemed that Rurutie's intuition was strong enough to convince her to stay.
"I see," responded Rurutie when Raven said that she could not get some peaceful sleep lately. The cornflower blue-eyed vampire paused for a minute, unsure what to say next. Somehow she could tell that something was bothering Raven and caused her to have rough nights lately, but she did not want to ask her what was the problem straight away since she did not want to be seen as too nosy or something. Yet I wanted to know what was bothering her, somehow.
Another minute of silence, before Rurutie eventually sighed and said, "Something must be bothering you, I guess."

“Affirmative.” Raven answered Rurutie’s assumption. There’s no further doubt that Raven’s distressed about her nightmares tonight, but at least the other girl is staying by the hazel-eyed vampire’s side. Her presence is enough to prevent Raven from having anything like an anxiety attack or whatever, if that’s even possible for vampires to have.
“To be rather honest, this isn’t something very new. I’ve had these sort of moments for quite some time in my life. Somehow I just can’t seem to be used to it.” It’s true she had nightmares, frequently and she never did anything about it, always hoping that someday they’ll go away and be all put aside. Tonight won’t be that night for that.
Raven still believes that the cause of these horrific dreams are from that “home” she resides in, to this very day. Like a curse that makes her have them almost every night. Hopefully, when the time comes, she’ll have the strength and courage to leave that forsaken place. But for now, all she mostly does or can do is just be away from it, finding places as distractions. In the end though, she always come back to it.
“So...Rurutie, what do you do for a living?” Raven decided to try and break the ice for the two, hoping to make things less awkward, and at least get to know this somewhat of a stranger. “Clearly, you seem like someone who does something, aside from walking out in the night.”

Raven confirmed that she was indeed bothered by something and told her that it was not very new. A low "I see" escaped from Rurutie's lips as she listened to what the black-haired female said. When she said about getting used to 'it', the cornflower blue-eyed vampire sighed and told her, "Well, if something is bad, there's no point in getting used to it, I think. I mean—a problem should be solved, perhaps even be eliminated if necessary, right?"
The young vampire sighed once again. Rurutie knew she might have no right to preach about solving one's problem, as she sometimes having difficulties in solving her own problems, but, really, she did not think that Raven should be used to whatever that is bothering her. Somehow she could feel Raven's uneasiness and tiredness, and it made her somewhat uncomfortable.
As Rurutie stared into the night sky, her mind was full of questions and assumptions, wondering what was Raven's problem actually. A part of her said that it was not really her business as they were just strangers to each other at the moment, another said it was normal for someone to be curious. The dark-haired vampire did not say anything about it, though—she just kept being silent for a few moments until the black-haired female asked Rurutie what did she do for a living because she seem like someone who does something beside walking out in the night.
For a few seconds more Rurutie was silent, thinking about what answer she should give to Raven. No, she was not going to lie, but—I wonder what made her think so. Also.. What do I do for a living, huh?
"Why do you think I look like someone who does something, I wonder?" Rurutie tilted her head slightly as she spoke to the black-haired woman. A second later she pulled her knees near, cradled her cheek in one hand and added, "To be honest, I don't get out that much. I go to school and sometimes walk around quiet places, but that's all, I think."

Yo, Myu is *still* struggling the writer's block, yo~
Lyrics;; "Unlocked girl ~ Misshitsu wo Deta Shoujo" by IOSYS Template by Kuroya of THQ & GS.
“Oh if I could eliminate this ‘problem’ so easily, I would do so in a heartbeat.” Raven drew her eyes to Rurutie, “Sadly however, it’s not so simple for me.”
To explain this all to Rurutie would be rather difficult for Raven. Had she known Rurutie throughout most of her time in life, it could’ve been simple and maybe, understandable. However, she is still a stranger, they both are for one another and of course, it will take time until both manage to get used to each other, it that ever happens.
By decision, Raven kept it all hidden…for now. Until the time is right, then she will finally speak the truth.
“Well, I don’t know, to be rather honest.” Raven answered, “You just seem to give off that sort of vibe, you know?” She gave out a slight shrug, unsure on what to say, afterwards.
After Rurutie explained what she probably does daily, it almost sounds common to the vampire, herself. She goes to school and then walks around. Only difference was that Raven does it very often, unlike Rurutie. She pulled her legs close to her chest and wrapped her arms around them.
“I see. Well, that’s not so bad, if you think about it. What school do you attend?” By assumption, she felt that it might be at Ryoutei Academy. It almost seems like a common school everyone practically goes to at Kamina. Then again, it’s possible they might see each other some time, at the very least. Like her friend, Yunneth.
Raven told that she would eliminate the problem she was having in a heartbeat if it was that easy, before somewhat complaining about how doing such a thing was not that simple, prompting Rurutie to let out a deep sigh.
"I see... Well, I'm not really sure, but—" The young vampire paused for a moment before continuing. "Some people have this one problem that's not really easy for them to get rid of, I think. And—somehow I can understand how you feel about it, I guess. I just—" She let out another sigh. "I don't know, one day you might find a way to solve this problem, eliminate it once and for all—perhaps."
The young vampire then looked up to the sky and went silent for a while, wondering. She was not really sure, to be honest, but somehow Rurutie could feel that this woman beside her is hiding something, just like herself, more or less. And, somehow she felt as if Raven had kept that something for years. Despite her curiosity, the cornflower blue-eyed vampire would not ask Raven straight away, or even push her to speak about it, anyway. Yeah, especially knowing that we're still strangers and I don't really feel comfortable talking about my problem either. But, really, maybe one day we could find how to solve our problem, and possibly eliminate it from our lives...
When Rurutie questioned the black-haired vampire why she thought that the dark-haired vampire looked like someone who does something beside simply walking out in the night, she told Rurutie that she just seemed to give off the vibe, making Rurutie a little bit unsure about how to respond since honestly she did not really like to go out. She told Raven about going to school as well as going to some quiet places at times, nevertheless, and the other vampire told her that it was not that bad before asking which school Rurutie attended.
Well, you don't know how much I feel insecure outside... Going out is not my thing, really. Even going to school is not my wish at first... It was Otou-sama's—and Ougi-niisama's, too... It was—an agreement so I can stay here, away from that woman...
The dark-haired vampire let out yet another sigh before trying to put a smile on her face. "Yeah, you're right, perhaps." She did not really agree with Raven, but there was a possibility that Raven could be right, at least in some aspects. Well, Rurutie was able to control herself to an extent after she went to school, so yeah, Raven might be right, indeed. Her eldest brother might be right as well—he always said that to solve a problem, one should face it, and since Rurutie's biggest problem was related to people and the outside world, he thought that it might be good for Rurutie to try to go out and meet people—a school would be a good starting point. At the same time, going to a school in Japan helped them to avoid a certain someone—that was a pretty good thing as well.
"Ah, about the school, I attend Ryoutei Academy. My father enrolled me there before he went to England," Rurutie answered Raven's question at last before asking in return, "Do you go to school, too, I wonder?"

“I hope so.” said Raven, “If anything, I hope that solution for me comes by very soon.”
Closing her eyes and a gentle breeze touched her face, tonight was truly peaceful. Maybe the wind will even take Raven’s troubles away, but that’s only wishful thinking. If it was that simple, Raven would feel less troubled, probably more ecstatic, and even free. Once again however, it’s only wishful thinking, and she could only dream of that freedom for now. She agreed to everything Rurutie had said, it’s true that there’s always that one problem people seem to have troubles with. Trying so hard to get rid of it, but they just can’t. Raven knows she has that kind of problem.
At least Rurutie’s kind enough to not question what this problem may be. Had she asked with curiosity, Raven would be very unsure on how to explain it all, or at least the gist of it. For now, it’s best to keep it to herself, than to tell someone she has only met.
(“She’s definitely not an outgoing person.”) Raven thought. This could honestly be a hard time to even socialize with Rurutie, then. Hell, it might be difficult to even befriend this woman. There isn’t really much to say and honestly, this conversation may end short. Hopefully this won’t be the case, but seeing the direction this is possibly following, it’s getting there. Such sad luck.
“I see,” As she figured, another student from Ryoutei Academy; just like her. It’s like if she asks anyone that she meets, chances are the school they’re attending is going to be Ryoutei.
“I attend there as well. Say, may I ask which year you are?”
Raven hoped that the solution for her problem would come by very soon—Rurutie hoped so, too. She might not be familiar the black-haired vampire for a long time, but she could relate to her in a way—she, too, hoped that she could solve all her problems as soon as possible. There were days when she was being very cynical about the world, thinking that this world is a wicked place and that there is no hope for her, but there were also other days when she believed that one day, everything would be alright. Somehow the conversation with Raven gave her a glimmer of hope—and possibly a little bit more positive look at her own current situation. She had been going to school for three years, as well as going out to some other places occasionally, yet the cornflower blue-eyed vampire was still very much insecure. Of course, most people would not know it because Rurutie tends to hide her insecurities—unless she is trapped in a certain situation, or is at her worst. Perhaps, it was because she still thought of going out as something not good for her. Perhaps.
Speaking about Raven, Rurutie felt that while they might have some things in common, they were different in some aspects as well. No, it was about the fact that she was a pureblood while the other vampire was a former human. The young vampire was not really sure, but from Raven's opinion about going out, the black-haired female gave a vibe that she was actually quite a spirited woman despite her problem. She seems to be a good woman, nevertheless.
Raven replied to her question, saying that she attended school as well—apparently, both of them were Ryoutei students. To be honest, Rurutie had guessed that the other female was a student like her, although she was not sure because they had never met before. Then again, she rarely, if ever, socializing with other students. Other than attending classes, she would spend her time at school in a particularly quiet, hidden spot in the library, or probably the rooftop when no one else was there.
When Raven asked what year she is in, Rurutie replied rather flatly, "Third year," before asking her in return, "And you—? Which year are you in, I wonder?"

“I see.” A look of somewhat disappointment formed on Raven’s face as she turned away from Rurutie. Surely, there’ll be a time that they might run into each other again, but definitely they won’t have any classes together.
“I happen to be in the second year.” She gave out a shrug.
“Guess we won’t be sharing any classes together, sadly. To think, I was hoping that maybe we’d have one.”
That shouldn’t be a complete downfall, though. It shouldn’t really matter if the two don’t have any classes together all because of being in different years. There are other locations to meet each other, again. Ryoutei didn’t have to be the key point to meet everyone, right?
Snapping her fingers, the feeling of optimism came back to the vampire,
“Say, Rurutie, do you happen to go to the cafe sometimes?” Hopefully this can work out. If so, maybe there’ll be a better chance to get to know Rurutie more. Tonight was just more of a keeping company, and getting the introductions out of the way. Of course, there are also other locations besides the cafe, but it’s the first that came to Raven’s mind. Besides, it usually has a good atmosphere on talking with people.
