Alisa woke up at 6:00 AM in the morning to study, around 8:10 AM she got dressed and fixed up her hair before going onto campus to have class at 9:00 AM. After she finished taking two tests she went to her third class, as it came to a close the professor told her that the students needed to get a novel and so she wrote it down on her list of books to buy from the store as well as the few that she wanted to purchase to read. It was around lunch when she left campus and wandered towards the bookstore, spending thirty or so minutes in there before holding three books in her arms as she walked towards the counter to make her purchase. Alisa fixed the backpack on her shoulder as she placed her books inside and grabbed her cell phone out of the front of her pocket to look at the time. She walked towards the exit of the bookstore and opened the door, since she wasn't looking up, she had managed to walk right into a man. Something she wouldn't admit out loud, he was handsome.
She shifted the backpack with her right hand, since her backpack was only on the one arm. She glanced down at her phone once more before shoving the device into her front pocket. Seeing as they were currently blocking each other's way, she moved around him. With a smile on her face she spoke, opting for these as her choice of words because she didn't believe herself to be the only one at fault for them walking into each other. "Seeing as we are both at fault for not paying attention, I just wanted to say that I forgive you." She wasn't going to hold it against him, she turned away, clearly not in the mood to give him a chance to say his words before slowly walking away from him, little did she know, this handsome man wasn't human. Though one should also take notice that she was headed towards the park.
[attr="class","textieno"]Continuing on with his day and leaving the bookstore, Ruki had practically brushed off that pointless argument he was having against the blonde dhampir. He never even gotten the chance to acknowledge her name, but honestly, he didn’t care at all. As long as he doesn’t see her again (hopefully), things should normal for him. One less nuisance out of his sight, and hopefully, out of his eternal life.[break][break]
Now with “her” out of the way, Ruki knew that some of his time has been wasted, no thanks to that woman. Errands might have to be cut short, and he needs to figure out what he should make for dinner for his brothers. Great, another day that could become irritating, and only in a matter of minutes! Frankly, Ruki was sort of used to these kinds of days; there’s always that one person that has to be simpleminded, that things have to be dumbed out for them to get the hints. It mostly happens during class time at Ryoutei, and Ruki dislikes the fact there are students in his class that are exactly like that.[break][break]
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted, now what? He had only just exited out of the bookstore. His slate-colored eyes looked down as he made a glance at a girl with strawberry blonde hair, who had bumped into him as she was making her way to the exit, as well. How foolish of her no doubt, and just by her scent, she was definitely no more than a mere human. She’s even being distracted by her phone, people these days. The girl drew her eyes to him and smiled, moving her way around him and gave him not an apology, but forgiveness?[break][break]
Wait a minute, forgiveness? For what?! She was the one that bumped into Ruki. No, there’s no way he’s going to take the blame, and worse, SHARING the fault. Oh no, it was all her.[break][break]
“I believe you are truly mistaken,” he finally spoke, “I knew the exact direction I was going, you were too busy with that little device of yours, and ended up walking into me. The fact that you say that both of us are at fault for your unwise distraction is repugnant. I find it rather foolish of you to think that I was also at fault for this nonsense when clearly, it was all on you. The idea of having to share the fault with someone so simpleminded like you, is revolting.”[break][break]
With that, Ruki made his way passed the girl,[break][break]
“Next time, try using your eyes for direction, rather than having them glued to your device that could be waited on, by the time you find a place to sit.” He made a suggestion to her, “It is very ill-considering for you to ‘multitask’ when all you probably will do, is bump into others, or even doors because of your foolishness.”
Alisa heard his words and turned around to face him. Her face held a smile but she was bothered by his harsh words, it seemed he had hit a soft spot. "Your right, it's my fault for looking at my phone to check the time." She had paused letting him hear those words, "Had you known where you were going, that is all on you, but you shouldn't have still been in that spot if it had been only my fault, which means we both share the blame because you weren't supposed to still be in that spot when I had exited the bookstore." Her words didn't sound harsh but soft, but it was clear she had a backbone when she needed one. "It's a shame you find me revolting though, can't please everybody." She shrugged her shoulders to him and corrected, "I don't normally bump into others, you must be special, seeing as they aren't in my way by the time I'm finished looking at my phone." She paused, "Suggested noted however." Can't count on anybody to not be standing in my way when I got places to be and stuff needs to get done. "I suppose your wanting an apology...." So I'll be the better person and just say it already. "I'm sorry for bumping into you." It will likely happen again if I run into you again.
All that effort in trying to avoid picking a fight, it took so much energy out of her, but she didn't need to start a war with anybody else, she just wanted to get on with her daily tasks. Her phone beeped and she took it out of her pocket to silence it before shoving it back into her pocket. The only ones who ever bothered to really contact her were her parents, that was the noise of her alarm to remind her that if she hadn't gone out of her way to buy that book that she still needed to do so. Her fingers gripped the strap to her backpack as she held it against her shoulder, pulling the weight off of her arm. Even though it would be more comfortable to have the backpack on both of her shoulders she didn't think it looked very nice so she allowed it to rest on only one shoulder, which proved in the end to be super heavy. Who does he think he is anyway? Is he that guy I heard arguing with that lady earlier? With any luck I won't have to deal with him picking a fight with me too.
“At least we’ve come to an understanding, then.” Ruki responded to her. However, that isn’t the end of it; the human girl added more to what she was saying. She had attempted to justify herself, and continues to put the fault on him about not acknowledging on where he was going.
“That is by far incorrect.” Ruki’s tone of voice grew colder, his voice dropping, “I knew exactly the direction I was going; leaving the store and currently walking out through the door.” Had the eldest Mukami been a man of no manners, he would be bashing at her with words of profanity and possibly call her ugly names. But that’s not the kind of man Ruki is.
“Seeing by how much you tend to blame everyone with yourself, instead of owning your faults, I can see why you can’t please everyone.” He ignored the rest of what she said after that. It’s only her still trying to justify herself, in many pathetic ways possible. This time she gave out an apology, finally. It’s better than nothing, admittedly.
Once again, Ruki began passing by her, not giving her any glimpse of his face, “Now that wasn’t so hard, was it? This could’ve been avoided if had you apologized earlier, instead of acting like you’re just as superior as myself.” Of course he’s still bitter about it. She tried to blame him with her for her actions. He wouldn’t even call that bold, more like ludicrous. She should know better than that, and own her actions and consequences; something mere humans tend to lack in, apparently.
“Once again, my time is wasting no thanks to you. I must take my leave.”
Alisa noticed his words but continued talking anyway. His voice had grown colder but she didn't let it bother her, either he knew where he was going and had walked slowly to get there or he didn't know where he was going, all she knew was that she had expected him to not be there when she had made it outside. She didn't care to call him out on his slowness however, might as well let it be for now. His words about her not pleasing everybody had hit a sore spot. "You can't please everybody." She corrected, glancing away from him, she didn't care to give him eye contact on such a statement. Ruki had moved to pass her, his words were annoying, it wasn't just her fault and yet he seemed pleased to hear that she had taken all of the blame. What ever. "Your not more superior as me...." She believed in the equal system. He then made his comment about his time being wasted once more and how he had to leave.
"It's not my fault it got wasted the first time as for the second, you could have left when ever you had wanted, but you wished to argue with me, that isn't all of my fault." She corrected him, moving towards him as to block him from leaving. "As for pleasing everybody...." She had a point with this. "Are you suggesting you have mastered that skill?" She asked, clearing waiting for him to claim so. "Then surely you wouldn't mind giving me some tips as for me to avoid wasting your time in the near future, or better yet at least impressing another person." She finished, hoping he wouldn't leave, not yet anyway. "I'm Alisa." She wasn't about to give him her last name, not yet anyway.
Unamused at her “sassy” little mouth, Ruki just rolled his eyes and sighed,
“I don’t need to please everybody if they aren’t any of my concerns. Like you for example.” He said, in a simple yet, blunt tone. She just went on and on, saying that he’s no more superior than she is. She obviously doesn’t realize who she’s talking to, but that’s basically everyone who meets Ruki. It’s troublesome, admittedly but still, he already knows who’s on the top of the hill currently, and he knows he always will be up there.
“Frankly, what you think of me doesn’t affect me. Not one single bit, this is because I don’t care about your beliefs. I already know where I stand, and it’s truly on a higher level than yours.” How many times will he have to say that, who knows? It is however, always good to give everyone a heads-up at least about that fact. That’s usually because almost every person Ruki has meant are fools and very airheaded.
“I wouldn’t talk if I were you, since you’re honestly doing the same, at this very moment. How simpleminded are you?” It’s true, he could simply ignore her, but someone has to shut her mouth, right?
“To ask for suggestions from me is rather audacious of you.” Ruki kept on walking, still taking another glimpse at her, “You can start pleasing me first, by strategically placing your lips upon my posterior, and kiss it repeatedly.”
Alisa sighed when she heard his comment, she didn't care that he didn't care to please her, she cared that he didn't prove that he could please everybody. She finished talking and he talked about how her thoughts about him didn't affect him. I could say the same to you too.... She thought to herself, choosing it would be better not to say anything more to him on the subject. He was right about her wasting time just as much as him, Something we can agree on.... She wasn't about to admit that to him however. "I wasn't going to argue with you on the subject." She stated, ignoring his comment of calling her simpleminded. His comment of asking for suggestions made her frown as she followed after him. He wanted her to please him? It depends on what he wants.... The words escaped passed his lips and she huffed. "I'm not kissing you anywhere." She stated in a matter of a fact. "So for your sake you better be lying else I'll refuse your so called suggestions." She answered him back, "How about an appropriate request for sucking up." She suggested, evening giving him the fingers as to prove her point. "You didn't give me a name..." She added, figuring there would be no harm in giving him a nickname while he took his time in giving one, if at all.
[attr="class","textieno"]Ramble and more ramble, could this futile conversation go on any longer? Seeing how this day’s becoming for Ruki, he might as well just head home and take a rest for the day. Cook dinner for his brothers, read his father’s diary and just rest; save the business for tomorrow.[break][break]
“If you didn’t plan to argue with me about this subject, then why bring it up in the first place? You could’ve avoided that by keeping your mouth shut and maybe then, this discussion could have ended. You’re like that of a dog, and specifically, a female one; all bark, but no bite.”[break][break]
Definitely, there’s that huff of offense from Alisa, and all due to Ruki’s extremely rude comment. Honestly, he wouldn’t really say such things, but enough is enough. He’s already dealt with too many who are a complete nuisance. Besides, he doesn’t know this woman, and for sure he doesn’t wish on getting to know her. She is, by no means, concerning to him.[break][break]
“Whether I was or wasn’t lying, it doesn’t matter at all to me. Save your breath with your deplorable “threats”, you’re only wasting your time. Do you honestly believe that I am worried about what you’ll do? How pretentious of you, keep in mind that you’re just a mere child who thinks she can effortly put me in my place, when she doesn’t even know her own.” With that sort of comment, Ruki would seem like he’s done with her, but it’s not over.[break][break]
“You wish for an appropriate request? Then I’ll give you one,” He sighed in annoyance, “It would be very much appreciating if you put a cork in it. I’ve had just about enough of your incessant jabbering.”[break][break]
Even then, that wasn’t enough. Alisa still asked for his name,[break][break]
“Does it truly matter to you to know my identity? I highly doubt we are ever to see each other eye-to-eye, once again.” Then again, that’s what he once thought when he had first met the dhampir, and he ended up having to see her one more time.[break][break]
“I even believe you’re not even worthy enough to know who I am.”
Alisa sighed again, "You made it sound like you knew how to please.... Turns out it was a hopeless thought on my part." She stated, clearly feeling like she had lost that conversation all together. He compared her to a dog and she couldn't help but glance away from him, the comment hurt, she forced herself to look back at him. "Well that is the difference between me and you then." She took in a breath, "I don't need to bite to survive." In other words, she didn't need to take action unless her life was in danger which at this current time she didn't believe to be the case, to her, he was just another human. He answered her question about whether he was lying or not and told her to just save her breath on such things. "Nobody is perfect, but at least I know when I've been beaten, it's just a shame that you'll never notice it yourself." She was done, once more it was from a sweet voice, she didn't want to argue, she just wanted this to be over and done with. He was right, she had wasted her time.
It wouldn't kill you to come up with an appropriate request.... She stayed silent as she waited for him to say the next few words coming from his mouth. More hurtful words, there was no way to make up for lost time and try and please him now. She had glanced away before looking over at him again, the courage was dying from her voice. "It does to me." She answered but it might have come out more as a whisper. His words, pierced through her heart, all because she had bumped into him and gave them both the credit when he must have believed it only to be her fault. "So that I know where to avoid going because I wouldn't want to bother you again." She answered, clearly hurt. "I'll start right now on the subject." She walked passed him, since he was going the way to the park. "Good bye." She whispered, her voice was soft as if trying to hold back from crying as she slowly made her way towards the park, believing this conversation was over.
[attr="class","textieno"]“Whether I do or don’t is not all that matters, it is however quite obvious that you weren’t paying attention to what I had said, earlier.” Ruki gave no sympathy for Alisa, “I clearly stated that I don’t need to please everybody.”[break][break]
Oh, does she not know what she means about that statement. Ruki as well doesn’t need to “bite” to survive. Because of how much of a restrained man he is, he’s not going to “bite” Alisa. She’s not even worthy of his fangs; she’s airheaded and loquacious. All that talk and still, nothing affects him, not from her.[break][break]
“Do not think you know me better than I know my own self,” the vampire’s voice dropping a cold tone towards the foolish human, “I, myself know when I’ve been truly beaten and currently, it shows that I haven’t. You’re not in my shoes and you do not know anything about me, little peasant.”[break][break]
Although he isn’t looking at Alisa, Ruki hears all the sighs and that light whisper coming out of her lips. Her voice definitely shows how hurt she is, due to his cruel words. He doesn’t care still, it’s her fault for trying to pick a fight with him. She messed with the wrong person and she’s paying the price. None of this would have happened, had she owned up to her faults and not place it on him. Perhaps, this will be a lesson for her to learn.[break][break]
Near the park, Ruki plans to just sit down so all the heat can cool off, after having to deal with two stupid girls. Ridiculous.[break][break]
Suddenly, Alisa passes by the vampire, again. She made it very clear that she’s deeply hurt and in his favor, she won’t bother him and bid him a goodbye. Definitely, it sounds as though she’s going to cry. Oh woe is her, to hear the truth of her stupidity. She needs to have tougher skin, or else anything can hurt her, easily. Once again, that’s her fault; she’s fragile, she thinks she’s smart, and she thinks she can win by blaming others, except herself or along with her. Stupid human.[break][break]
